Things I Watched+Liked: March
In a further quest to share a bit more love to things I've watched on and offline, I've made this lil' list. Today we have a bit of everything; fashion, lifestyle and dark comedy. Get comfy, grab a coffee and maybe some seasonal chocolate if you're that way inclined...
Inside the Wardrobe of Rosalind Jana: Biased because Liv & Rosalind are two of my favourite Internet ladies and have rather stellar wardrobes. Regardless, I loved seeing inside the well-stocked wardrobe of Rosalind Jana. That lady knows her way around a thrift store and always looks fabulous. Don't believe me? Have a look at her Instagram. Interesting watching and I love the stories behind her clothes.
Dealing & Living with Depression: Britney and I go way back. Actually I think this year it's seven years since we met. Crikey! Anyway, she is the reason I am here blogging at all because she made it seem so cool and fun and I wanted in. So thanks B. Anyway, she is creating some fantastic discussions on her blog and YouTube around mental health. They're candid and real. We need more content like this. I don't want to call her 'brave' or inspirational because sharing stories like this shouldn't feel exceptional, even though in the present day it kinda is. Anyway, freakin' brilliant person. Go watch.
Moving Into A Studio Apartment: Tara, aka one half of the dynamic duo that is Shop Style Conquer studies fashion design in Melbourne (yass) and recently got her own studio apartment. She's still setting it up I think but I enjoyed seeing this glimpse into what it is like and of course that IKEA furniture. Side note: NZ, needs an IKEA and needed it yesterday. On that note, I recommend all of Tara and Ellen's videos.
The Party: Not a YouTube video but a film. A dark comedy or dramedy as I believe they're referred to. It stars Kristin Scott Thomas, Timothy Spall and Patricia Clarkson among others. The whole film revolves around one evening at a dinner party and the secrets, off-the-cuff comments and drama that ensues. It's brilliantly written and well worth the watch.

January Favourites
First things first, if the letters of this post start evaporating it's because it's thirty plus degrees as I write this. I'm not sure how Australians survive with this humidity, it's not a fun time! Anyway, weather complaints aside, today I have a rather hefty monthly favourites post for you all, nearly double digits! There's a lot of beauty, a book and even an accessory which I've loved in the mix this month...
Mac Foiled Shadow in Joy Toy, limited edition: Photos don't do this champagne-gold eyeshadow any justice whatsoever. It's stunning. I'm not sure if Mac have bought out the foiled shadows before but they're such a lovely formula. Silky smooth, super pigmented and they have an eye brightening effect. There are some unusual colours in this formula but you can't go wrong with the neutrals. Side note: This picture's deceptive because the pan of this would easily be double the size of a standard Mac eyeshadow. Just keep that in mind.
St Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan*: Aside from the time I overzealously applied this and ended up with orange shoulders (yep...skilled), I can't fault this one. It's a great tan enhancer and something convenient to whip out if you're paler and don't want to faff around with full on tanners. Provided you don't exfoliate too often the colour does last a good three or four days before you need to fix it up. It doesn't have that awful fake tan smell either. Bonus.
Benefit They're Real Lash Primer, available January 29th*: I've tried a couple of lash primers lately and this one is by far my favourite. Rather than being a white liquid, this one's mink brown so it looks a lot less severe on the lashes. You can wear it alone which looks amazing and I've been told by my friends that it looks like a mascara on the lashes. It really works its magic when paired with other mascaras though. I've tried it with several and it seemed to make them all look more amazing. Witchcraft perhaps? I'm impressed regardless.
Amethyst Crystal Necklace x Shop Style Conquer: After my clear quartz pendant broke (RIP), I was looking for another crystal pendant to buy and I loved the look of this one from Tara and Ellen's online shop. Let's be real, I could've bought one of the others they have too though, they're all amazing. I like longer necklaces because I feel like shorter ones emphasise my nonexistent neck and I prefer the way longer chains sit. This looks lovely on its own and layered with other daintier pieces. I do love me some versatile jewelry.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light: This is such a Summer favourites post isn't it? Bronzers aplenty. This one's on the pricier side of things but it's huge and will last ages. I love how the colour is more pale skin friendly as well. You can't go wrong with Hourglass's powders. It's a bold claim but they have to be some of the best of the bunch.
L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation*: After temporarily losing this foundation, I finally found it again and have been loving it. The aforementioned humidity loves to destroy my makeup and leave my skin as luminous as a CD, so matte bases and mattifying powders are my best friend. I have Vanilla, the palest shade which seems to suit my skin fine at the moment but I love the formula of this and how flawless it leaves your skin looking. It's perfect for combination or oily skin types.
Sisters: This. Film. Though. I went and saw this with Fiona a couple of weeks back and we loved it. I'm probably a bit biased because I do have a lot of love for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler but it is hilarious. There's also a ton of SNL cast members in the ensemble cast who all deliver. The dialogue is brilliant and the acting is superb. Do not be surprised if you are crying with laughter during this one.
Coco Mademoiselle Eau De Parfum x Chanel: Coco Mademoiselle is such an iconic fragrance and I wouldn't be surprised if it's not one of the bestselling fragrances of all time. I'm terrible at describing fragrances so this one is from Fragrantica: Top notes of Coco Mademoiselle Parfum incorporate Sicilian oranges, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian grapefruit. A floral heart is created of pure rose extract and pure jasmine extract, along with a fruity touch of litchi, while its base notes carry a combination of Indonesian patchouli, Haitian vetiver, Bourbon vanilla ad white musk. It's luxurious, lovely and so longwearing. Even though this is quite expensive, you barely need to spritz any so you can be guaranteed a bottle will last you ages. This is easily one of my favourite perfumes ever so hell will break loose if it's ever discontinued. For real.
Not If I See You First* by Eric Lindstrom: There could've easily been a few books in here this month but this one stood out to me the most. It's the story of Parker, a vision impaired teenage girl and her life as a high school student+young woman trying to make her way among the chaos that is life. It's funny, sad, heartwarming and all round brilliant. I really loved this book and gave it five out of five stars over on Goodreads. It was such a strong novel to start the year with.

Shop Style Conquer
Before I started blogging I used to love reading fashion blogs, in particular Tavi's and Phoebe's. I still do actually. They're a nice refresher and a break from words like 'pigmentation', 'formula' and other beauty phrases. One of my current favourite fashion blogs is Shop Style Conquer, written by Tara and Ellen. As well as sharing their covetable outfits, they also post about beauty, nails and the happenings in their lives. Go check their blog out if you haven't already because it is awesome.
A few months back I sent Tara and Ellen these questionnaires to fill in so you could learn a bit more about them. There's even some cute drawings to look at. Sorry the scans are a bit shabby but if you click them you'll be able to read them better.

The Best Of The Fashion Instagrammers
There are so many inspiring fashion bloggers, designers and creatives on Instagram. It was difficult for me to narrow this list down. As I've been writing this post more names have come to mind but we'd be here all day if I included everyone-if you follow me on Instagram you'll be able to see who they are though. I follow more fashion 'grammers than beauty ones actually. Here's the fashion ones that have me inspired and, you guessed it, reaching for that heart button-if they have blogs too then I highly recommend having a look at those as well..
Shop Style Conquer+Tardaeda-Ellen and Tara are the masterminds behind Shop Style Conquer. Expect to see regular outfit posts, cute Starbucks snaps and more pretty pictures. Side note: A lot of these girls post stunning photos so you'll begin to notice a theme. Shop Style Conquer is one of my favourite local blogs at the moment and it's well worth the browsing session if you're unfamiliar with it.
What Olivia Did-I accidentally stumbled upon Olivia's Instagram when I was searching for photos of a beauty product. I'm so glad I found it though! Her style pays tribute to times gone by like the sixties and it's so pretty and girly. I love it!
Alexa Chung-The style icon for many a women-Alexa has the whole effortless chic thing down. You'll see front row snaps, designer clothing, selfies and artsy shots aplenty. The day is always better with an Alexa 'gram or two.
Teen Vogue-This is so cliched but I've loved Teen Vogue for so long. The work they do inspires me so much, so naturally it'd make sense for me to be following their Instagram. You'll see plenty of behind the scenes photos from editorials, events, even backstage at fashion week. Editor in Chief Amy Astley's Instagram is worth the follow too.
