The festival officially kicks off tomorrow night with First Light, where High Street's stores will be showcasing the latest Autumn/Winter fashion trends and in a similar nature to Vogue's 'Fashion's Night Out' showcase each September. From Monday-Friday next week there are both seminars and collections shows to attend, which ticket holders can access. All these events will be taking place at Shed 10 on Queen's Wharf. Then on the Saturday is the infamous 'Designer Garage Sale' where members of the general public can buy garments from New Zealand designers at discounted prices. They'll mainly have Summer 2012 items on offer but it will generally be a mix of seasons! Best to get there early if you don't want to miss out on the best bargains.
My budget is a little bit stretched at the moment with my second year of studies starting up next week but I did manage to get tickets to two seminars, the first on Monday "5 Simple Steps to become a Magazine Editor" (mandatory) and then "MAC: On Trend" on the Wednesday (vital to survival).
Tickets to the Seminars and Collection shows start from $25 and can be purchased at iTicket.
