Another month, another cardboard envelope of Happy Mail goodness from A Beautiful Mess. This month seems to have been all about typography with the odd illustrated graphic thrown in for good measure. This month's pack is sold out now, in fact it sold out before it arrived. Side note: Would you still like to see these posts? I feel kinda mean blogging about pretty stationery that is no longer purchasable. Anyway, on with the May Happy Mail...

This month marks the return of the copper foil which made me happy. Funny that...While I liked last month's silvery foil, I felt like it was a little bit trickier to read on some of the designs. One of this month's specials was this wifi password print. I think this is so cute and home is where the wifi is after all. There's also the 'you're golden' card which I love and am saving for my pinboard because of its positive vibes. I also really like the eye print card above as well as the birthday card and that succulent card in the bottom corner. The one card I'm a bit 'meh' about in this photo is the dance step one. I think it was for the foxtrot but it just didn't appeal to me as much as these other prints.

It wouldn't be Happy Mail without a lil' bit of colour now would it? That sewing themed card is reserved for my Mum who loves quilting and craft. I know she'll love it. The motivational/straight up print is going to up somewhere I can see it. I'm thinking of framing it for my desk actually. We shall see. I love that pretzel card and also the phrase stickers. There were some in the first Happy Mail I received and I love using them so they'll be handy. There was also emoji stickers this month and a postcard to send just to say hey.

Two Happy Mail posts in one month? You lucky things. Plot spoiler: the March Happy Mail kit was good, so good in fact that it sold out really fast. Maybe there's a whole world of copper magpie-humans (just roll with it) out there that I never even knew about. I was really impressed with the card selection this month and while this only arrived last week, I've already been putting the cards to use. In fact, some of you guys may find yourselves with them. 

Here's what was in the March Happy Mail along with my musings about all the stationery things...

Observation #1: All the colour! There was really a rainbow of colour in this month's kit which I liked. Here we have another birthday card, which I've used already and a Palm Springs card which I love. It reminds me of those 90's-early 00's cartoon shows that used to be on Nickolodeon or Cartoon Network. Y'know the ones where they had really kitschy, unique looking houses? There was a grumpy cat which I think is the cutest thing ever, and then some stickers/tabs. You could use these along the edge of pages, cards, in those plastic dividers for folders/paper storage. They were the thing I was least excited for this month but I'll still use them anyway.

There was a lot of copper lettering in this month's kit which made me extremely happy. There was another animal themed card, this time with a pug. Side note: I do not get the somewhat universal obsession with pugs. Moving along, we have a motivational postcard-perfect for the old vision board. Then we have the gorgeous dotted notecard which was one of my favourites this month. I also love those neon gift tags. They're great for jazzing up a present, especially if you use plain brown paper. You can also use them in scrapbooking or even make bookmarks if you're in the DIY mood.

Now the main image at the top of this post contains my favourite things from the March kit. The stunning Maya Angelou quote print with the marbled background is already on my pinboard and might even find itself in a frame at some point. I also love that shopping list because lists are my thing and I am terrible at remembering what I entered the supermarket for. The Dolly Parton quote card is another nice one to brighten up someone's day, and who can resist that rainbow envelope? There could've been twenty of those "I Owe You Big Time" cards, they're that useful. Finally we have the "You Got This" card. Another one that's stunning to look at and motivate yourself/someone else with.

So in case you couldn't tell by that essay, I was really impressed with this month's Happy Mail. I really think it's such good value for money. Elsie+Emma and their team obviously put a lot of time into how each item could be used and everything's so practical. I'm definitely going to keep my subscription going.

To know me is to know that I am stationery obsessed. I have always been and inevitably always will be. I'm also a bit obsessed with A Beautiful Mess at the moment. While I lack the motivation to do their DIY's, I love the inspiration their designs and projects bring to me. So when I heard about Happy Mail, I was intrigued and decided to sign up with their February kit...

Happy Mail is a subscription service and each month you receive a kit containing various cards, prints, stickers, stationery and more. Given that each kit is valued at $50 US and you pay around 20 NZD a month with shipping, this is really good value. Each item I received in the February kit was such good quality and I've already sent off a few of the cards to friends and family.

If you're an ABM fan you've probably already seen the contents of this month's kit but there was an art print, an assortment of cards, colourful stickers for decorating envelopes/sealing them, those cute word stickers above and a Taylor Swift-themed pencil. There was a lot of gold foil accents on show this month. You know how I feel about gold foil...I loved the range of cards included too. Those word stickers feature phrases from Mean Girls which made my day and they'd be great for cards or journals. I also spotted one of the cards I sent out on my friend's pinboard this weekend which made me smile. They're such beautifully designed cards that deserve to be shown off.

One thing I noticed was a lot of the cards are more postcard style and only have one side to write on. I don't know if this is a particularly American thing but I like cards that open up. It's not a major by any means, I'm just fussy with stationery. I also like having space to write on because I tend to write a lot in cards.

So all in all, I was really impressed with the February Happy Mail kit. I'm thinking about doing a post about the March kit as well, so let me know if you're interested in seeing that.
