I am obviously biased but this gift guide may just be my favourite yet. This one is all about supporting the more niche businesses, with a focus on independent makers and sellers. It's a mix of everything because when it comes to indie sellers we are spoilt for choice. Prints are one of my favourite things to spruce up a space. Especially now where I try to avoid blu-tacking things to my walls. I also daydream about having my own wall devoted to prints, photos and other framed oddities one day so they appeal to me in that regard as well. Recently I've acquired a trio of new prints so I thought I'd do what any blogger should; document them and then showcase them here for your eyes to peruse. Enjoy...

// Willow in a floral Jumpsuit x andsmilestudio: When I saw this on Etsy initially it made me smile and I just felt like it was so 'me'. Florals, red lip, messy hair. There's just something about it that I find so magnetic and captivating. The lovely Viktorija also threw in some of her illustrated cards as well, including a miniature of this which I keep in my diary. It's just exquisite and I am so happy with it. 

// Hold my bag x Studio Bon: Local illustrator Bonnie has fast become one of my favourite illustrators for her beautiful fashion and beauty illustrations. When she opened her own shop I knew I had to grab something and this Chloe Faye bag illustration was it. It is going to go beautifully with the colour on my wall, it's a similar albeit muted shade. It will also tide me over because the reality of me owning the real deal is unlikely unless I ever win the lottery. This Diptyque illustration is also stunning as well. 

// XO x Maiko Nagao: How gorgeous is this custom foil print? A couple of weeks back I was invited to skincare brand Trilogy's 15 year celebrations and this was in our goody bag. Along with a rather scrumptious cake from The Caker. Despite my love of metallics, it's actually not a feature of any of the other prints I have already so I'm looking forward to getting this up on my wall. Sparkles and shine are such mood raisers for me. 

-Where are your favourite places to find new prints?

So you've left your shopping to the last minute and don't necessarily want to brave the shops? I feel you and hope to lead a mall-less existence for the next week or so. Today wraps up my gift guide series with some ideas for gifts you can access online fairly easily. Sure they might not arrive for Christmas Day but it'll give you or the receiver something to look forward to. A lot of these items are from independent sellers because there's some very talented people who deserve support and to have their work shown. That and I am all for shopping local. something to say x frankie magazine // Unfortunately this book is not available to buy in NZ but it can be bought online or in the shops if you are in Australia. Something To Say is a collection of stories from the first twelve years of frankie mag. It really is the perfect volume of the best of the best and contains some really fantastic, humorous and enlightening writing. It is well worth the purchase.

Constellation Moon Phase enamel pin x Oh No Rachio // Pins seem to have made a bit of a comeback in 2016 and many of the ones on my lust-list have come from Oh No Rachio's Etsy store. I own this Constellation Phase pin and most days it lives on my trusty denim jacket where I can marvel at its dazzling-ness, as can passersby. She also has some adorable succulent pins in her shop as well that are worth having a look at. 

Cup and Saucer: Svenska Hem x Kikki K, not pictured // After spying this on Maria's Instagram I thought how gorgeous this would be as a gift for Christmas. In fact, I'm not going to lie, I would not mind owning this myself. It's the perfect gift for the tea or coffee enthusiast in your life, and it's translucent and adorned with gold foil dots. What more could you want?

Herb Garden Calendar x Rifle Paper Co // If you are in Wellington, pop in store to buy this from Madame Fancy Pants. Otherwise it is available online. This is the calendar I bought for myself and if you haven't seen my Instagram, go look at this. I'm absolutely smitten with it and can't wait to hang it on my wall. Rifle Paper Co. also have a stunning Alice in Wonderland desk calendar and this one which is a simpler variation on the one I have.

Netflix // If you have a friend who loves Netflix or wants to start a subscription, perhaps you could make up a little voucher saying that you'll pay for a couple of month's worth of their subscription? It's a simple idea but is sure to be appreciated. I know something like this would make me so happy.

Floral Weekly Planner x Papio Press // Desk planners are a lifesaver, especially if they like being able to see at a glance what their week is looking like. This floral one is gorgeous and is bound to brighten up any desk it sits atop. I love the handy notes column too-it's perfect for jotting down phone numbers, train times and the like. 

Copper Tipped Ring Cone x Fox and Lilly // Another of those items I think I will end up getting myself. As someone who wears a lot of rings and finds standard jewelry holders to be a bit of an eyesore, this is right up my street. It is a bit quirky but if you know someone who wears a lot of rings then I think they'd love this.

Framed Cards or Prints, not pictured // Something as simple as a well designed card or a print framed can be very special to receive and gift. You don't need to go all out for frames. I usually get mine from Kmart and they're definitely no more than $12 maximum. A lot of Etsy sellers even have prints available as digital downloads so you can get them printed out, often at a cheaper cost and then frame them up for the receiver. Some of my favourites are from Oh Gosh Cindy. Rifle Paper Co and the Megan Hess for Disney cards look stunning framed as well. 

-What are your last minute gift recommendations?

Ahh paper goods. I feel the way about them the way Donna feels about fine leather goods. Over the last few months I've acquired a few new bits and pieces so I thought I'd bundle them all together into one blog post so fellow stationery appreciators can swoon and become the embodiment of the heart-eyed emoji in one place. Cat Coquillette-I'm sure you will have seen this designer's work appearing on Instagram and on the walls of rather snazzy homes. Kate and Anna are fans, as am I. The type combined with the flora and fauna elements just gets me. As you're about to learn I love a good pop culture reference; hence the Parks and Rec plus Mean Girls themed cards. She does some gorgeous prints featuring quotes as well which are worth checking out. I love that I can't even sticker as well. It speaks to me on so many levels.

Carmen Hui Art-Buzzfeed ran an article on Australian Etsy stores recently and Carmen Hui's work was featured. She does beautiful prints, again featuring flora and fauna as well as furry friends like this Koala+succulent drawing up above. How cute is it?? I'm looking forward to adding it to my pinboard sometime soon.

Kikki K-You all know by now how much I love Kikki K so I'll spare you my usual love-letter. I had a couple of discount vouchers/loyalty perks to take advantage of so I grabbed this inspiration book, these and then the notepad was a freebie. The adhesive dots may seem random but they're great for things like journalling, DIY's like cards and envelopes etc. Kikki K have a bunch of awesome, inspiration+motivational themed wares in store at the moment so you should go check them out if they sound like your kind of jam.

bestplayever-Pop culture paradise is the phrase I'd use to describe this online store. I spied their wares on Olivia's blog and was smitten. If you like Wes Anderson films, this is your kind of store. They also have some rather awesome Parks and Recreation themed pieces as well. I love that Grand Budapest Hotel notebook I picked up and Leslie's uber flattering card. I may just have to send that to the Ann Perkins equivalent in my life.

I do love a good haul and excuse to support smaller, independent stores. Whether they're local or online, they're often packed with unique treasures and you're bound to find something special for yourself or someone else. In this case, it was more of a 'treat yo self' moment although I did buy someone a Christmas present from one of these places. Anyway, on with the haul...

-Rookie Yearbook Four, purchased from Time Out Books-This was another gem of a book released last month and I ordered mine in from Time Out as soon as I heard they were getting it. The Rookie yearbooks contain a mishmash of content from Rookie's site over the last year, curated by Tavi Gevinson and her team. There's also a bunch of bonus content from rad people like Lorde, Emma Roberts, Florence Welch and more. As well as all that, each section is beautifully presented, illustrated and an absolute visual feast. Side note: if you are in Auckland and find yourself in Mt Eden. Go to Time Out. You won't regret it. 

-Mint+Gold Planner, purchased from Nouvelle Daily-Now this sold out super fast and I'm not too sure where else they're available from. If I find that out though I will let you know. I've already purchased a diary for next year but I like to keep my blog calendar+planning separate which is where this planner comes in. It's not dated so you could technically use it whenever you wish but I'm going to be busting it out next year for all my blog planning+other creative things. 

-Holly Golightly watercolour portrait by Oh Gosh Cindy-This is fast becoming one of my favourite Etsy stores. I'm currently trying to convince myself that I do not need to buy Christmas cards from here although it's not going too well. How beautiful is this Audrey Hepburn print? I'm still hunting for the perfect, plain frame for it so it can shine in all its glory on my wall. There's a heap of other awesome prints with rad ladies and gents of pop culture land featured in her store so you're bound to find something that'll take your fancy.

-Moonrise Kingdom Suzy card-Moonrise Kingdom is one of my favourite films and Suzy Bishop's my favourite character from the film. Her wardrobe, love of cats and fondness for books and records just appeals to me, y'know? There's not much more to this purchase really.

If you've been a longtime reader of this blog, you'll know just how obsessed I am with Etsy. It seriously is the best place to find unique, one of a kind things. Whether it's something for you (treat yo'self, amirite?) or someone else, you won't come away empty handed. When I am feeling a tad on the spendy side, I like to check out Etsy and see if anything's caught my fancy. Today I thought I'd share with you some of the stores I've discovered and loved this year as they're all fantastic. Their wares would make great Christmas gifts too..

Velvet Wolves-I think I first spotted Velvet Wolves' illustrations on Tumblr and her Lana Del Rey prints had my eyes turning into heart emojis within seconds. She also has some Great Gatsby prints, Pride and Prejudice and even an Alexa Chung zine. I love the whimsical quality her work has and just how ethereal all her portraits look. Side note: Everything is made to order so if you're after something as a gift, be prepared to wait a little while for your goodies to arrive. 

Studio Matte-This was a Buzzfeed find. Good old Buzzfeed eh.. I've been smitten with fruity prints this year and these bookmarks were too good to pass up. They're painted onto beautiful cardstock and are so adorable. My favourites are the pineapple and the one with the assortment of fruits on it. There's also has some rad metallic notebooks in this shop too which are a must if you're a stationery obsessive.

My Bookmark-To be honest I can't remember where I first saw these bookmarks, possibly Pinterest but c'mon, when you see cute lil' shoes hanging out of books, you're going to be intrigued. My Bookmark specialises in unique, clay-made bookmarks with shoes inspired by literary characters hanging off the ends. They're really awesome-my favourite design has to be this Harry Potter one. I actually got the Dorothy bookmark because I love the iconic ruby slippers from the film. How can you not though? Those shoes are stunning. I digress, these bookmarks are unique, really well made and I love them. PS-They ship from Ukraine and orders arrive crazy fast! From memory mine took just under a week door to door.

I'm back with another little Christmas Gift Guide for y'all today. Now this was meant to be a video but life got in the way. I'll spare you the details but these are all gifts I think would be great for your non-beauty loving friends. They're all things I'd love to receive too. Obviously it's what on the inside that counts but the outside is just as important, especially at Christmas! I've also rounded up some of my favourite gift wrapping bits into this post. You may notice a recurring colour theme...

Steps

*Select your items for your wall gallery. I opted for a selection of prints, cards, Taylor Swift Polaroids and an Audrey Hepburn photo which was in an old calendar. I'll link these prints and things below x.

*Lay the images out on your black card and play around with how you want them arranged. I had a variety of different sizes so I played around with the order to mix it up. I also had a few quotes and phrases so I tried to separate those so the text wasn't all in one corner.

*Once you've settled on an order you can then trace around the images on the black card, label them and then cut the black card out. Now I didn't do this but you can label each print on the black card and then move them around on your wall to see how the layout will look. 

*Grab your Washi tape and get sticking! I opted for a gold chevron tape and then a gold striped one but if you want something that isn't patterned you could just use plain coloured Washi tape instead. I chose to do some with just tape in the corners and then used longer strips on the larger prints. It's entirely up to you what you do here. This is just what I liked.

*Stand back and admire your handiwork. Here's what my finished 'wall' looked like:

Bath and Body Works 'Pink Lemonade Pound Cake' Mason Jar Candle, purchased from eBay-Pink lemonade is one of my all-time favourite drinks so it seems almost inevitable really that I'd like this candle. It smells amazing! The scent is like a mix of lemon sponge cake with a hint of sweetness, perhaps even grapefruit-esque notes too. The scents linger for hours after as well. I've still been able to get a whiff of this after replacing the lid on this candle. 

Elephant and Bird 'Dream Believer' Pillowcase, not pictured-Does anyone know how hard pillowcases that aren't attached to pillows are to photograph? Anyway, I just lurve this and I loved this stall at the fair. Luckily you can buy from them online so if anything takes your fancy you can go ahead and shop. 

Frankie Magazine, Issue 60-Frankie is like an old and loyal friend for me. It never disappoints me and I can spend hours getting lost in its pages. In fact, it's one of my favourite things to pack in my bag on long train trips. This issue has been one of my favourites recently. The floral and art prints inside are both beauts. If you're in Australia or New Zealand, get your hands on this one. 

YSL Baby Doll 'Kiss and Blush' in #01-I picked this little number up in a blog sale recently and I love it. The colour reminds me a bit of the new Bourjois Velvet Lipstick in Pink Pong. A vibrant fuschia, this liquid lipstick is so easy to apply which has to be down to the spoon-shaped applicator. The colour itself dries down to a satin finish and is so long wearing. It's not drying in the slightest and while the colour does wear off eventually, touch ups aren't essential as you're left with a gorgeous stain on the lips. 

Broken Bits Clay Hearts, purchased from the Auckland Art and Craft Fair-There doesn't seem to be an online store for this seller, but she does have a Facebook page and travels around various Auckland markets. You may have seen these cropping up in various blog pictures and that's because I think they're so pretty. I can't wait to hang them up on my wall eventually. 

The Fault In Our Stars Print-Love. This is my favourite quote from the entire book although there are so many to love within its pages. I'm not gonna lie, the mint green background and old school typeface were both big drawcards too. 

-Have you had any particularly spendy moments recently? What did you splurge on?

*I hope everyone's having an amazing week. I currently have some kind of cold virus which isn't ideal but there's not much I can really do about that. What else..oh I saw Jersey Boys at the cinema on Tuesday. It was actually really good. I do have a much softer spot for the musical though but I still loved it regardless. Blog-wise I've been slowly updating the pages and other bits and pieces to match my new template. There's a disclaimer page down the bottom and now I have Disqus installed so commenting should no longer be an issue. Have a fabulous Thursday! xx

You may have seen over on my Facebook last month that my room's getting a fresh coat of paint soon. I'm still making my mind up about colour schemes, but when I realised I'd get to redo my walls afterwards it got me all excited. I've been collecting art prints for a few years and have always wanted to frame them. Now seems like the perfect opportunity!
