The Beauty Sale Buys

In the days and weeks post-Christmas, the Internet and bricks and mortar stores become a heaven of bargainly goodness. Feelunique is one of my go-to sites for wallet-friendly beauty buys and I've never been let down by their service yet. Today I thought I'd show you what I grabbed in my latest sale shopping spree. There's some repurchases and some new bits that I'd been wanting to try for a while. So here's how 'treat yo'self 2015' went down...

Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara-This was a repurchase, although I was gifted this mascara initially but I did like it so I grabbed it again. I'm really enjoying waterproof mascaras at the moment, the formulas just seem to work with my lashes better. I've tried a few different Maybelline mascaras now and this one is still my favourite. It does not disappoint.

Zoella Beauty Travel Pass & Compact Mirror-I'll be honest, this is a bit of a random purchase but I wanted something to house my AT Hop card given I am notorious for misplacing it. The fact it has a mirror inside is a bonus and I might even use this when I'm not in the mood to take my wallet out and about.

Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer-Aka the ever-popular age-rewind concealer. This is a repurchase for me as this is my favourite under-eye concealer. It lasts so well and really hides those undesirable dark shadows. I have no idea why this concealer isn't available in NZ but it really should be because it is fab.

Korres Santorini Vine Shower Gel-It wouldn't be a Feelunique order without at least one Anna influenced buy. Did I really need another shower gel? Not really, but I like having these mini ones in the shower because they take up less space. It smells divine and while I haven't had a chance to use this yet, I know it's going to become a favourite.

Beauty Gift Ideas: The YouTube Edition

This time of year is really when the beauty brands come alive and release a whole bevvy of wonderful, limited edition treats for us all to admire and treat ourselves or others with. In recent years we've seen some of the British beauty vlogging set launch their own beauty ranges and they're all pretty darn lovely. While not all of these are strictly Christmas items, I thought they'd all still make lovely gift ideas. They're cheap and cheerful too which is always a winner in my books too. Anyway, on with the beauty bits...

Zoella Beauty Mini Fizz Bar Trio-Now this is one of the Christmas releases from Zoe's body+beauty brand this year. Her fizz bars are designed to look like bars of chocolate and the idea is you break a square off and throw it into your bath. It doesn't do anything crazy, but you are left with a relaxing scent to enjoy whilst you soak. A set like this would be great because you could always gift the three separate fizzers to different people and make your money go a little bit further.

Fleur De Force Lipgloss in Little Star-Fleur's beauty linw is one of my favourites and I love how personal her range all feels. She's released a range of lipglosses and also some eyeshadow quads+beauty accessories. Little Star is a gorgeous, peachy pink. Her glosses have a cake-like scent to them which will appeal to the younger set but there's a wide variety of colours here to keep everybody happy.

Fleur De Force Eyeshadow Quad in Cosmic Bronze-The star of Fleur's new range may just be her eyeshadow palettes. There's this palette and also a more pinky-toned quad to choose from. I couldn't decide between the two so I may just have to go back and get the other one online at some stage. These eyeshadows are so pigmented and just glide onto the lids. They're all really easy to blend and these colours complement each other nicely. The lighter matte shades may not be as pigmented but for the price you pay for this palette, they're pretty darn decent. Side note: All Fleur's products are cruelty free as well which is something that was important to her.

Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Lunch Date-Out of all the more wallet-friendly gloss offerings, Tanya's have to be my favourite. I think I've gone through two or three of them now, and this one is my latest. It was finally back in stock, after selling out which could be down to the Anna-factor. I can see why it's so popular though. This nude shade is so easy to wear on its own or thrown over your everyday nude lipstick. It's not too tacky and as Anna says, it's basically Mac's Patisserie lipstick in gloss form so it gets major brownie points. If you want to play it safe, I think neutral shadows or glosses are the way to go. Choose colours depending on what sort of skintone she has or what colours you know she'd typically go for.

The Sephora + Feelunique Haul

How do I explain this? My friend and I wanted to make a YouShop order (Sephora round one), then I wanted to do a birthday order because if you can't treat yourself then, when can you (Sephora round two) and then Feelunique had a couple of sales. Sorry not sorry. This was a thing that happened over a couple of months and today I thought I'd show you some of my new favourite beauty things...

The Sephora Stash

Clinique Cheek Pop in Melon Pop-Let's start off with the obvious here, the Clinique Cheek Pops are just so aesthetically pleasing to look at. Who doesn't want a blush that has a flower embossed into its powder? Melon Pop as the name would suggest is a peachy pink shade. As it isn't too warm toned it's the perfect blush for porcelain beauties and it looks really natural on. I love that these are travel-friendly as well.

Peter Thomas Roth Mini Mask Magic Kit-When I'm on a skincare kick, it's masks that I love to work into my routine. Peter Thomas Roth masks are pretty pricey on their own so when I saw this mini mask kit for sale it went into the virtual basket. Inside you get the Pumpkin Enzyme mask, Rose Stem Cell mask and the Cucumber Gel mask. All three are included with different skincare concerns in mind so you could always buy something like this and split the masks up among friends as gifts/party favours. Or if you are like me and don't want to share them, you have three different masks for different occasions. Winning. My favourite has to be the Cucumber Gel mask but the Pumpkin Enzyme mask is up there too.

Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara in Black Honey, limited edition-I spied this mascara a couple of times over on Jane's blog and it really intrigued me. Coloured mascaras are all the rage at the moment and this burgundy black follows that trend without being too garish. I've not opened this one yet as I seem to have a fair few mascaras open but I will keep you posted once it is cracked open. Side note: This shade isn't being ranged in New Zealand as far as I know but the black mascara in this formula will be available.

Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Hand Cream-This fragrance has to be my favourite of the year, hands down. It's a subtle floral with a hint of musk and I am obsessed with it. So when I saw they'd released a hand cream in this formula I added it to my basket and didn't look back. It's silky smooth, dries down fast and doesn't leave your hands feeling sticky or greasy. Ain't nobody got time for handcreams that act that way.

The Feelunique Frenzy

Rimmel Lasting Finish Cream Concealer-As far as I know this concealer hasn't been released here in NZ. Given it looked similar to my long-missed, Corrector from Bobbi Brown, I had to try it. It's opaque enough to conceal dark circles (yass!) but it blends out nicely and doesn't look too cakey. It's also long wearing too. A plus to Rimmel.

Bourjois Aqua Blush in Cocori Corail-To be honest I've not experimented with this product much yet but on the occasions I have worn I've loved the way it looks. This creamy cheek stain gives you the perfect amount of tint with a bit of dewiness thrown in for good measure. I recommend using fingers or a duofibre blush to blend this in for the most natural looking effect.

Topshop Beauty Lipstick in Rio Rio-First things first, how stunning is that rose gold embellished lipstick tube? It was a limited design to celebrate 5 years of Topshop beauty recently. While it may not be around now, this colour is part of the permanent lineup. It's the perfect orangey red and gives me major Lady Danger x Mac vibes. It's also matte too so you know it's not going to disappear in the nick of time like creamier formulations tend to. If you're looking for a vibrant red going into the warmer months, this may be the lippy for you.

Bourjois Colorband Eyeshadow+Liner in Mauve Baroque-When Anna dubbed this a dupe for Misty Rock x By Terry my ears pricked up and I made a note to test that theory out. Feelunique had a good sale on Bourjois things recently so that was my excuse to grab it. Now it's not identical but it is very close. Mauve Baroque leans ever so slightly more purple but it does look very similar on the lids. It's also not quite as budge-proof as its higher end counterpart but it does still last a decent time before it fades. I'm going to have to get some more of these for Summer because there's some other pretty shades I need must have in my life.

Zoella Beauty Tutti Fruity Fresh Fizz Bar-Zoe's added a tropical touch to her beauty range and it's bound to be just as popular. I grabbed this fizz bar along with the makeup bag, which I'm actually using as a pencil case. As opposed to the original chocolate bar style fizz bar, this one is made up of bigger squares to break off and use. I think there's four or five so you get a decent amount of use out of this one. The scent is tropical but it definitely has hints of florals and muskiness in there too.

Zoella Beauty

It seems like ages ago since I started watching Zoe's videos and reading her blog, but it was really only two years back. I can't remember how many subscribers she had back then but it really was not a massive following. Caution: cheesy moment coming. Seeing how successful she's been though makes me so happy and while I don't know her personally, I can't help but feel so excited for her. Many of you will probably know that she's recently launched a range of bath and body products under the moniker, Zoella Beauty. Naturally I wanted to buy all of the things but the candle was unfortunately sold out online and the body mist won't ship internationally. What I did manage to get ahold of though has certainly delivered..

Creamy Madly Dreamy Body Lotion-First off, I love the Zoella Beauty packaging. Rose gold type, lace detailing reminiscent of paper doilies, dots and coral pink. All things Zoe loves. I feel like this range of products perfectly reflects Zoe from the design through to the scent. This body lotion is scented the same as the Fizz Bar and it's lovely. I thought it might be super sweet but it really isn't. It's floral, with a hint of sweetness but it's not overpowering in the slightest. It seems to remind me of fresh linen and is something I can imagine would appeal to a wide range of women. Oh, and it keeps your limbs nicely moisturised too.

Eyes Beauty Bag-This was by no means a necessary purchase but I am so glad it did make its way into my virtual basket. For a makeup bag it is ridiculously roomy. It fits all my brushes and the makeup essentials. Even the mammoth Real Techniques Powder Brush manages to fit itself in here. You'll see just how much it manages to hold in a video next week as well as another way you may wish to use it. Ooh mysterious..

Fizz Bar Fragranced Bath Fizzer-Aka the chocolate bar for your bath, but it's probably best you don't try eating it. As the name would suggest, this is a chocolate block style bar made up of fizzy cubes you break off and drop into your bath. They don't do anything exciting but they do make your bath smell good. You can use as many, or as little of these as you want but I tend to use one when I'm not wanting a bath that's filled with glitter or rainbow water.

*Have you tried anything from the Zoella Beauty Range? What did you think of it? PS-NZ+international non-UK friends, you can buy these products online from Feel Unique. They'll ship everything except the Body Mist overseas.

-Wowzers, it's Wednesday and November. I am finally done with Uni for the year and am now just that little bit closer to being finished. Today I'm heading out for a well-needed day off so I'll be wandering the city as you read this. See you all tomorrow with that giveaway I promised you and a little fashiony post xx.

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss

When Tanya announced she was launching a range of lipglosses and nail polishes at the end of January, the beauty and twitter-spheres collided in an excitable buzz. The results? A stunning collection of colours and names that were carefully chosen by Tanya herself. You can get the glosses here on Feel Unique but unfortunately the nail polishes won't ship internationally. Choosing just one lipgloss was not easy-the shades are all stunning. In the end I settled on Afternoon Tea but after seeing how gorgeous Aurora was in person I imagine I'll be back for that in the future. Anyway, here's what I thought..

The Sales Edit

Christmas is now over and if you're in the Southern Hemisphere no doubt some of you will be off right now spending gift vouchers or money in the Boxing Day Sales. I'm sure the fairies behind some of our favourite beauty sites are aware of all this too because a few days before Christmas their sales emails started appearing in my inbox. Well, they've certainly collated some fabulous beauty things in their sales. I've gathered a little edit of some of the best bargains. The best part is you don't even need to leave your house to purchase them. Whether you're looking to treat yourself, or get a head start on gifts for next year, you are bound to find something you're tempted by.

Eyeko 'Alexa Chung' Set-This cutely packaged kit contains an eyeliner and mascara that both have Alexa's artwork and approval behind them. I added this set to my cart and hastily left the tempting Beauty Bay realm, 'nuff said.

Too Faced 'All I Want For Christmas' Set-This is such an adorable set. I love the case it is all packaged up in. You get everything you need, sans base for a makeup look in this set. If you're looking to try out Too Faced then you should pick this up because there's a well thought out selection of products to try in there.

Diptyque Philosykos Eau De Toilette-A fresh, fig scent that is uplifting and not potent in the slightest. Now that I have the Figuier candle as well this scent reminds me a lot of the fragrance of fresh Christmas trees so it's like owning Christmas in a bottle all year. Who wouldn't want that?

Essie Winter Collection-Festive glittery reds, navy blues and cashmere greys. Love. You cannot fault Essie polishes. They're long-wearing, easy to apply and they have a fantastic colour range.

Online Beauty Shopping

Online Beauty Shopping

I was first introduced to the world of online shopping when my parents used to order me American Girl books from Amazon. Last year I discovered the heaven that is online beauty shopping. This trio of digital delights certainly deliver the goods. Grab yourselves a pen, paper and get comfy.

Beauty Bay

Beauty Bay was discovered after hearing Shannon sing its praises over on her channel. Beauty Bay is probably best known for selling Urban Decay's products like the Naked 2 palette pictured. As well as Urban Decay they are also home to This Works, RMS Beauty-Miranda Kerr's favourite and many more. Beauty Bay has free shipping but you can pay a little extra to get your things shipped faster to you. Most of my orders arrive safely within two weeks. To be honest the wait is worth it for the money you save.

Feel Unique

Feel Unique was another YouTube-centred discovery, this time from Fleur's channel. It is home to some of my favourite beauty brands like Caudalie, Korres and Real Techniques to name a few. Compared to Beauty Bay, Feel Unique has a wider range of brands to buy from. While some may not ship to countries outside Europe, there is enough available to keep most beauty lovers satisfied. All my orders from Feel Unique usually arrive within ten days, sometimes less. They also have free shipping and everything is always packaged very well so there's no risk of anything breaking.

New To The Beauty Bazaar: The Pick 'N Mix Edition

So I haven't been buying a lot of beauty products lately as I'm saving & also because of Christmas Shopping but last month I did acquire some new things. I have a sneaking suspicion that I may be getting some beauty products for Christmas (my family aren't very subtle) so you'll no doubt see them at some stage as well!

Anyway, here's what's been passing over my vanity counter as of late!

Sadly we can't buy Caudalie or Korres products in New Zealand, thankfully though we can buy them online from Feel Unique. Both these products took about two or so weeks to arrive but they were well worth the wait.

First up we have the Korres Lip Butter. I saw these mentioned on various beauty vlogs & blogs before I caved & bought one to try. This one tastes like cookie dough & leaves lips with a subtle nude tint after application. I like how the product itself melts into the lips to hydrate them & leaves them super smooth. I can't wait to buy more of these! Read more about their lip butters here.

I also decided to buy one of the Caudalie Beauty Elixirs to try. Inspired by the "elixir of youth" used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, Caudalie Beauty Elixir smoothes features, tightens pores, and gives the complexion a burst of radiance. I spritz this a little while before I apply my makeup & to give my skin a pick me up during the day. It definitely does live up to its expectations, skin is left a lot smoother & my makeup glides on to the skin's surface a lot easier. The only thing I'm not a fan of with this beauty elixir is the scent. It can be a bit intense sometimes but otherwise this is amazing.

Monday Marvel #22: Say hello to Korres!

Korres are a Greek Beauty+Skincare company who are intent on only using natural ingredients in their products. This is one of the many reasons to love their products. I've been trying one of the lip butters & have loved it so much that I thought you'd like to hear about them too!

Pictured; Jasmine, Quince & Guava.

Korres have a range of 6 lip butters; Quince, Pomegranate, Mango, Guava, Jasmine & Wild Rose. I own the Jasmine one & it smells divine, like cookies actually! It also works really well too. Once the balm comes into contact with your lips it will melt into them. The lip butter is quite possibly the most moisturising one out there & the colours all add a nice tint to your lips too.

So the answer is yes, you do need these in your beach bag this Summer!

-Korres Lip Butters can be bought online at ASOS or Feel Unique.
