The Week #108

The Week in Instagrams @nanawintour: Side Note: This week's been a little less 'insta heavy. Apologies. *Lollies and cultural policy report writing. The lollies sweeten the deal. *A little mid-week treat from the Mac Alluring Aquatic collection. This is one of the eyeshadows in the shade Lorelei. *Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade. *A 'lil peek at prop corner, setting up to pres-hoot some upcoming blog and Facebook posts.

Must-Watch of the Week: Fun fact time: I am a glasses wearer. You may not know that because I don't think there's pictures of me in them on the blog as I usually tend to wear contact lenses instead. I find glasses frustrating during the day, particularly with makeup as I find it hard pairing eye makeup with them and also lip colours. Tanya filmed a video of everyday makeup for glasses wearers this week and it's stunning. Very simple, but I think with glasses it's important to be mindful of what features of the face you want to dress up.

Product of the Week: Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet-Surprise, surprise. I will not say too much because there's a review of this heading your way next week. What I will say though is combination skin gals, you will love it.

Must-Read of the Week: Do you struggle to find the perfect fragrance? It can all get so overwhelming. Whenever I visit a perfume counter I try to spray 2 perfumes, one onto a card and then the other on my skin otherwise it becomes difficult to distinguish scents. If you find yourself in a similar boat then you'll love the guide Nouvelle Daily put together on how to find your signature scent. Into The Gloss is fast becoming one of my favourite bookmarked sites. This week they looked at Karlie Kloss and her top shelf of skincare and beauty picks. If you're a fan of Karlie's or even a simple, streamlined approach to beauty take a little time to read this.

Added to the Wishlist: Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate-Samples are bad, yet so so good, more on that soon. I have a decanted sample of this eye cream from Sephora on rotation at the moment and it is good. Seriously it rids your eyes of puffiness and dark circles like no other eye cream out. I swear it's because it contains noni juice, a superfruit that's said to be amazing for your skin, and a favourite of Miranda Kerr's. The price tag does make this more of a 'wish' item although you could always add it to your cart if you wanted to treat yo'self..

*It's the weekend (nearly) and the end of classes for the semester. Yay! I'm not quite done with assignments yet but I did finish the beast that was a briefing paper yesterday. It was actually quite interesting to research, just not as fun to write. Today I have a driving lesson and I'm taking a friend makeup shopping which should be fun. This weekend will probably be pretty chilled though seeing as I have more work to do but I am going to see The Fault In Our Stars with some friends on Sunday. Note to self: get the giant tissue box. Have a great weekend! I'll be back Monday with a new beauty post xx.

  1. Eep! I picked up the Mystical Lipstick from the AA collection. Wish I could splash out on the eyeshadows because I love the formula, but I have exceeded my beauty budget already this month. Hope you enjoy it!

    1. Nice pick! That lipstick's gorgeous. The eyeshadows are stunning but I don't think I can pull off a glittery grey eye so Lorelei was right up my street. x
