Another month, another somewhat hefty lineup of books. Given it's mid-semester break still I have quite a bit here so hopefully I manage to finish them all in the three (ish) weeks I have left. There's a bit of everything in there this month, just because. July's a good month for new books too; Emma Gannon's and Carrie's are released, and of course at the end of the month the much-anticipated Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be out as well. I can't wait. Today though, let's take it back to the books that are actually out now. Here's what I want to read in July...

The Girls* by Emma Cline-This is the first book that was voted for in my book club. I'm not going to lie, I was quite pleased about that because it is one of my most anticipated reads of the year. Set in the Summer of 1969, Evie Boyd is sixteen and feeling like a bit of a nobody, until she sees the girls. The free spirited, carefree girls who come and go in a jet black van. This book is inspired by the Manson Cult and from the research I did, I feel like this book is going to get rather dark. I'm reading this at the moment and find myself tentatively turning each page, waiting for something bad to happen. I'll be doing a proper review of this though when I am finished so keep an eye out for it. 

Paper Girls, Volume 1-I'm quite into graphic novels and comics about women at the moment and Paper Girls is one of my favourites. I have Issue One already but this book is a bind-up of the first five volumes. Set in the late 80's, Paper Girls follows a group of 12 year-old teens who deliver newspapers and discover one story that will change life as they know it. It combines mystery, bad-assery and nostalgia. All things I love in a good graphic novel so I'm looking forward to getting into this one.

The Fall of the Butterflies* by Andrea Portes-Firstly, look at that cover. Beautiful. This YA book follows Willa, who is sent to an elite prep school where she has no intent to fit in. Other than that I don't know much about this book. It's giving me Gossip Girl vibes though so maybe there'll be a bit of drama. 

Kinfolk Volume 20-Kinfolk's 20th volume is centred around all things travel. The international team embarked on adventures in twelve cities across four continents. The result is an issue laden with a bunch of travel-centric stories, inspiring imagery and of course the potential to make you want to go on holiday real bad. I love the fashion stories in this issue as well. 

One by Sarah Crossan-One's been getting a bit of buzz at the moment as it's a YA-book with a bit of a difference. It tells the story of conjoined twins through verse which I don't think is very common in YA books at least. I've read and heard lots of positive reviews for this so I have high hopes.

Y'know the drill by now. I buy/acquire magazines. I devour them over my morning coffee/in free moments. I inevitably like them and then feel compelled to share the love with you guys. So here we have it, four magazines  have read and loved recently. Enjoy!  

Kinfolk-Ahh Kinfolk, you mighty ol' thing. This magazine combines the best of all that we love; design, travel, food and entertaining. It's about the simple and fuss-free. The cleanly designed and the organised clutter. Each issue has a theme, the Winter one centres around design and its widespread significance. They also explore the idea that good design doesn't necessarily need to follow all the rules, in fact it may bend a few along the way. There's something relaxing about reading Kinfolk and I've loved dipping in and out of this one throughout the Summer.

The Happy Reader-If you saw my end of year book haul, you'll know The Happy Reader is a bit of a nightmare to find. Regardless, I thought it deserved a mention around this part. I'm pretty sure this magazine is released by the folk behind The Gentle Man and Gentle Woman magazines. Each issue focuses on a literary enthusiast, usually a well known face who we all know and love. Past issues have included Aziz Ansari and Kim Gordon. There's also a snippet of another book included and a bunch of additional bookish goodness. This won't be a magazine for everybody but if you love books you should hunt this down. 

Yen-Yen have really upped their game recently and it's one of those magazines I make an effort to grab when it's released every two or so months. The latest issue was their annual festival themed one and features interviews with a bunch of artists who are headed down under for various festivals throughout the Summer. There's also some inspirational fashion editorials, musings about travel and even an article about the mysterious cults and secret societies of the world. I'm not sure if this magazine is available outside New Zealand and Australia but it is well worth the read if you can find it.

Cereal-Surprisingly this magazine is not dedicated to one of the best meals of the day. It's a publication, released twice yearly devoted to travel, adventure and all things us wanderlust loving folk are fond of. If this magazine doesn't make you want to pack up and roam the world with a camera, books and the simplest of things, then I don't know what will.

Lately though I've got to the end and been so eager to press publish that I've forgotten to add this in. This week's been eventful if I do say so myself, but in a good way. -Hourglass Blush: The Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette may be everywhere this season and while it is stunning, it's really not the best value for money. I'd recommend picking up one of their full sized blushers, bronzers or face powders instead. They're luxe, beautiful and such flattering powder products. -Tender Love & Carry Pouch: I have a rose gold one of these and love it! It's designed to be a makeup bag I'm sure but at the moment it's become my temporary wallet until I buy a new one. They're really lightweight and compact, perfect for storing things like beauty minis, beauty tools, pens, whatever you want really. You could stick her favourite lipstick or something equally as lovely inside too. Available from: Farmers, 

-2016 Diary: There's just something about fashionable stationery that builds the illusion that you're an organised person who has it together and has excellent taste. What better way to keep tabs on all your fabulous moments in 2016 than with a diary. Whether it be weekly, daily, or monthly that you're after, they are a godsend. I'm sure some people will think they're archaic in the days of iCal and the rest, but you cannot beat pen and paper. Available from: Kikki K, Typo, stationery shops. You know the drill..

-Kinfolk Home: Or Kinfolk magazine, whichever floats your boat. I've actually gifted this book to Amy as a wedding gift and she+her partner love it. It's even on my own wishlist. If stunning interiors and home design+decor are popular, they're bound to love this one. Available from: Book Depository, Mag Nation and other specialty book stores.

-Printicular Photos: This one is really easy guys-all you need is a phone, an app and an internet connection+access to a Warehouse Stationery store. You can choose to sync this to your Instagram or upload your own photos, choose what size and finish you want, order them on your phone and bam. Once your pictures start printing they're usually ready not long after. These square sized options are perfect for your Instagram pictures. I think these would make a great gift for someone else if you chose to print out their photos for them. Available from: Warehouse Stationery, the Printicular app is on the app store.

-An iPhone/phone case: The number of people who tote around an expensive phone without a case on it astounds me. Not only do they look rad, but they keep your phone protected! C'mon people. If you're looking for something with a bit more functionality, those phone cases that double as a cardholder are nifty too. Available from: Rifle Paper Co., Kikki K, Typo, I even think Kmart may have some options.

-Freedom Bowls: Homeware is the one item that can be a bit risky as people's tastes with this are either really clear cut or a bit more relaxed. You can't go wrong with something like bowls or plates though. They might seem boring but if you buy something that you know will appeal to someone's tastes then it's much more thoughtful. I love this Freedom set (pictured) but they have a ton of other great options in store too. 

-What would you recommend someone buy for Christmas as a last-minute gift?
