What I Love Weekly #41
1. New York Fashion Week goodness! Highlights include; Karen Walker, Alice + Olivia & Marc by Marc Jacobs. Also loved some of the makeup looks that MAC created for their shows in particular. I've made my imaginary wishlist already.2. While we're on the subject of fashion I have to mention my Valentines Day present to myself, my Chanel nails! My inspiration board is on my Facebook page but more or less I was inspired by the feathers they use in their Couture (in particular SS13), stars in their Jewellery & Ready to Wear looks & their iconic perfume bottles. They are quite simply amazing. Still curious? See them yourselves here.
3. Homemade berry & banana smoothies are the best. Forget Starbucks, for now..
4. The greatness that is Les Miserables the film. I finally saw this on Monday & loved it. What an incredible musical & story. The film is also cast perfectly & it'll be very surprising if Anne Hathaway doesn't win an Oscar for her role. Definitely see it if you haven't already & be prepared to have the soundtrack playing not long after, oh & take tissues!
5. I'm going to Wellington again next week! It is only a day trip but already I am counting down the days. This means high tea, vintage shopping & lots of wandering. ♥
6. Two of my friends have recently given their blogs major overhauls & they both look amazing!! Hannah & Britney have both changed their blog names recently & changed their design among other things. They've both done a fantastic job so make sure you check out the changes.
7. That dress Carrie wore on Episode 5 of The Carrie Diaries. Unfortunately I can't find a full length photo anywhere online but her dress was Sapphire blue & she wore it underneath a full length tulle skirt. It looked amazing layered with lots of glitzy necklaces. Speaking of The Carrie Diaries, this blog posts many of the clothing featured from the show & where it is from. There is a lot of Marc by Marc Jacobs & Topshop as you'll see! ♥
8. Focus has been a key idea this week. Recently I'd been getting caught up in what was going on around me, in many aspects of life & this was making me doubtful about a number of things. So I've been doing a few tasks like mind mapping, goal setting, tuning out distractions & focusing my attention elsewhere. It really helps.
9. Evie's fabulous home has been featured in Homestyle magazine this month! Evie is the lovely person behind my new logo & planned redesign & she also blogs + designs all sorts of radtastic things. Anyway, the photos & interior design ideas in the article are well worth a look so be sure to check the issue out when you're next near a supermarket or bookstore.
10. Leah Light launched her fabulous new range of Minx Nail designs this week! They are pretty stunning & all have really lovely inspirations+stories behind them. Check them out here.
♥ I hope your weeks have been loverly as Audrey Hepburn would say. Today I am doing a spot of shopping for holiday supplies. I'll be away for a week but will have posts going up a few times next week so be sure to check back for those. xo
