The Extras: Rimmel Salon Pro

When it comes to nails, nothing quite beats the gel manicure. They're a lot more chip resistant, have a gorgeous glossy finish and super-smooth texture. Well now they've got a bit of competition from the  Rimmel Salon Pro collection.

The new range is a collaboration with Kate Moss who has also done a lipstick collection for Rimmel which has been incredibly popular, #107 anyone? There are thirteen shades in total and there is something for everyone from these bolds to a gorgeous nude which Hannah featured.

I have the shades Jazz Funk* and Hip Hop, two of the more vibrant shades from the collection. For a while I have been more of a glitters, pastals and neutrals girl. Since I've been getting gel manicures I've been wearing a lot more brighter shades so these two are right up my street. These colours are both really vibrant and glossy, perfect for Summer. You could probably get away with wearing just one coat, that's how opaque they are.

So how do they compare to the more expensive nail polishes on the market? Well, I think these perform a lot better than some of my pricier nail polishes. The wide brush means you can coat your entire nail in a couple of strokes. When it comes to applying nail polish I am not the neatest of people. I had no trouble applying these. It was so easy to avoid making a mess! These polishes also dry incredibly fast as well so you aren't left having to wait ages before applying another coat. They dry to a gel-like finish and texture, people won't be able to tell you painted your own nails!

It's safe to say I am obsessed with the new Salon Pro range. There's such a wide range of colours and they're so easy to apply. The polish also lasts really well on the nails too. They're designed to last ten days before chipping and I've only noticed some tip-wear around day 7 when I've been wearing these. Rimmel, I am impressed.

-The new Rimmel Salon Pro polishes are available from Farmers stores nationwide. Until the 30th of September they're on offer for $7. You do the math, you could buy 4 polishes for the price of one OPI colour if you're crafty.

  1. Wow! This range sounds so exciting - I'd love nail polish that I can apply myself to last more than one day - definitely going to give these a ago.
