February Favourites

It's February favourites time! This month I gave my makeup bag a good old reshuffle and even did a bit of a cull in the packaging, perfume and lip product departments. In fact, every month from here on in I've decided to shuffle products around a lot more-variety is the spice of life after all! Anyway, here's what I've been loving during February..

NYX Powder Blush, pictured are Mocha, Summer Peach and Taupe-These blushers are great quality given how inexpensive they are. They're pigmented, long-wearing and such flattering shades. All of these haven't left my makeup bag this month-Summer Peach is my current favourite and Taupe is great for contouring if you've got a fairer complexion.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara-Mascaras don't tend to smudge on my lashes but during the day mascara on my bottom lashes tends to which is frustrating if like me you don't carry mascara around with you. Bottom Lash will solve your problems. It has a tiny mascara wand, perfect for getting in close to the root of your lower lashes. It stays put and there's no black spots under my eyes by the end of the day.

Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream*-I love this eye cream from Bobbi Brown. It has a lightweight, gel-like formula but it is still incredibly creamy so you know it's going to be hydrating. I'm prone to getting dark circles, more so if I've not been sleeping. Using this nightly makes those much less obvious. You can also wear this underneath makeup as well because it is so lightweight. Love.

Fresh Sugar Lip Polish-Matte lipsticks are the best for colour that stays put and requires minimal touchups. The downside though is that they can be quite drying. Bring in the lip polish. This is perfect to use if you're going to be wearing a matte lip product the next day as it conditions and nourishes your lips. I also use this when my lips are looking particularly dry or damaged. Unlike other lip scrubs the Fresh polish doesn't make a mess and end up all over your sink so you end up using less as well.

Mac Eyeshadow in Tempting-There are plenty of Mac eyeshadows that get a lot of love from beauty bloggers online, but I've not heard anyone mention this shade before. Mac describe Tempting as a sinfully rich coco. It's a bronzed taupe with subtle shimmer throughout, think Ore from Illamasqua but lighter in colour and less glittery. If you have brown eyes then you'll love this colour. It seems to be an underrated Mac eyeshadow but I'm not sure why! Definitely go have a swatch of it when you're next passing a Mac counter.

Real Techniques Retractable Lip Brush-If you want your lipstick to look perfect and have a bit more time on your hands then a lip brush will be your best friend. This Real Techniques one is the perfect size. It's dainty but not overly so-it won't take you years to apply a lipstick. I like that this brush is retractable too so you can take it out without having to worry about lipstick smearing through your bag. Real Techniques brushes are cruelty free as well and super affordable, you can't really go wrong with them.

Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm-This is one of those products that many a beauty blogger seems to love, it's certainly cheaper than the By Terry versions! This lip balm is hydrating and clears up damaged lips pretty fast. Last week I managed to burn my top lip (don't ask..) and this was a lifesaver at healing my lips. It claims to be plumping but in all honesty it doesn't seem to do much in that department for me, but I wanted it to use as a lip balm so that doesn't bother me. I love the scent of Creme De Rose as well, it reminds me of Turkish Delight-so delicious!
