The Freedom Homeware Haul
A little while back I was lucky enough to get a sneaky preview of Freedom Furniture's homeware selection for Summer, as well as their exclusive festive range. Being the decor+interior design lover that I am, this was a dream come true for me and I couldn't wait to go shopping after. Freedom very kindly gifted us a voucher to use instore and I took advantage of it a couple of weeks ago. The experience was akin to what I imagine a kid being left alone in a candy store would feel. Here's what made its way home with me...
Ecoya Sweet Fruits and Pink Champagne Candle-Candles aren't really the sort of thing I buy for myself if I am entirely honest but this one smelt so decadent that it had to be purchased. Its scent is tropical yet the champagne notes give it an air of sophistication as well.
Cuddle Mug-Firstly, how cute is that name? This is the white cup speckled with blue in the photo and it'd like to contain your hot and cold beverages of choice. Sorry, channeling Frankie mag here. Seriously though, this is very cute and they have some other lovely colours for this design too so go give 'em a look.
Galerie Tumbler-Now this is stunning, the clear tumblers edged with gold honeycomb detailing. From memory they're handpainted too. These would look so lovely on your table at Christmas time or during the year if you want to keep the festive vibes going.
Lagoon Cereal Bowl-This is so stunning. My photo's not going to do it justice. The glazed interior reminds me of what I imagine the water in Greece looks like. There's a range of pieces in this style like dinner plates and salad bowls plus there's a similar design in a darker blue colour as well. It's a bold claim but this might just be my favourite buy of all from Freedom.
Delight Side Plate-"She said, just like Marie Antoinette". This appealed to my sweet treat loving self and I was attracted by the gold lettering and matte black background. I'm really loving the matte ceramics at the moment. They have these plates available with more festive sayings too and a sweet one that says something like 'it's lovely to have you here' which would be such a neat thing to serve guests breakfasts on.
Gold placemat-I'll be honest, this was purchased primarily for photographic purposes. Blogger life...However I will probably end up using it for its intended use as well. There were silver ones as well I believe but they weren't identical.
-Have you hauled any homewares lately? What did you grab?
*Have an amazing weekend everyone! TGIF. No really, T.G.I.F. Maybe that's just my reaction at present because I'm tired but it's been a long week so the weekend is warmly welcomed. Despite my best attempts today, the Uber Kittens won't be a reality *sad face*. This weekend I'm going to the lovely Amy's wedding and that's about it really. Have a good one and I'll see y'all on Monday with my November Favourites.
**All of these products were redeemed with a gift voucher, with the exception of the Ecoya Candle which I paid for myself. As always, all love of #homegoals worthy items are my own.

A Decor Update
If you follow me on social media, you may have noticed that my room's been given a fresh lick of paint. It really inspired me to rethink how my room looks and of course to declutter. Seeing as my room also doubles as an office (of sorts) I really wanted the space to not look overloaded with stuff and for it to be a relaxing atmosphere. I'm still in the process of replacing some furniture, my mirror and bookshelf, so I'll give you a full look at it once it's done. Today though I thought I'd share with you some recent decor additions...
The New Things:
Teal Faux Fur Throw, The Warehouse*-This may not be the exact same throw that I have pictured but it looks similar enough. I love to have throws on my bed in Winter because they're just so cosy and warm. They're great for when you want to watch a movie or box set in the living room and don't want to freeze either.
Stanford Cushion, Freedom Furniture-The cushion I used to have on my bed was really oversized and just looked a bit out of place so this one's really the perfect size. It's slightly smaller than a pillow and it really blends in well with the other colours in my room. Freedom have such a nice variety of cushions, especially if you like pastel hues.
Tassel Garland, Typo-Tassel garlands are all over Etsy but they're often quite pricy so when I saw this one in Typo at a more affordable price point it had to come home. The silver and white look so pretty together and I can't wait to have this up.
Amethyst and Clear Quartz, purchased at a market in Sydney-There was a whole stall of precious stones at The Rocks markets in Sydney and I chose these two. I've always wanted some rose quartz too but they only had massive pieces. Anyway, I know some people are skeptical about the meanings behind having these stones in your space but I really like the idea. It helps that they're also pretty to look at too.
Esha Quilt Cover, Bed Bath N' Table-This print is just beautiful isn't it? Morgan & Finch do the most stunning bedlinen. It's all fantastic quality and they have such a vast array of designs. You're bound to find at least one print you'll love. They're often on sale too which is always a drawcard.
Peonies in Jar, purchased with a Kmart voucher-If there's one thing I love it's peonies. Having some all year round that won't die is a bonus. My previous track record with plants is dismal, so faux it is. I have these on top of my bookshelf with some other candles and trinkets. They'll certainly tide you over until the real deal come back in season.
Heart Bud Vase, West Elm-What is there to say about this white, gold foil heart adorned gem that I found in Sydney. West Elm was an absolute interior design dream and like stepping into a Pinterest or Instagram home. #lifegoals. While I didn't leave with the copper measuring cups (I know..), I had to get this vase. It is quite small so it's probably not the most practical but it'll be perfect for daintier flowers come Springtime.

December Favourites
Now I was intending on giving December Favourites a miss, but I knew I wouldn't be able to keep quiet about these gems for another whole month. There's a magical cleanser, a couple of eyeshadow stash staples, the Kylie Jenner nude and even some decor+a book for good measure...
Flo and Frankie Pineapple-This is no longer coming up online so I'm guessing it may have sold out now. This little pineapple is adorable and when it was on sale recently, I had to order one for myself. The gold leaf detailing actually leans more rose gold in person which I like. This is by no means an essential but I just thinks it adds a bit of pizzazz to my room+bedside table.
Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics-Matte shadows were never something I felt like I was missing from my collection, until I realised just how ridiculous shimmery shadows look in the crease. This palette is perfect and aside from the brown-black shade on the end, I use these colours most days. It's such a versatile palette and the colours apply so smoothly and don't look chalky. Love.
Australis AC/ME Eyeshadow in Bronzonce-If you want a cheaper alternative to the Stila Magnificent Metals eyeshadows, then this is your guy. These apply like a cream then set down to a powder finish and last pretty well, with or without primer. Bronzonce is very All That Glitters-esque. I love it! These are limited edition I think so I'm going to have to grab myself a backup.
Nars Audacious Lipstick in Anna-Where do I begin...the name, the packaging, the colour-it's all amazing. This colour reminds me of Mac Syrup but a smidgen darker. The finish looks matte but it applies creamily and sits nicely on the lips. The colour lasts pretty darn well too. I'm tempted to get the shade Grace next but if you have any recommendations then sing out.
Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel-Confession time: I've been very neglectful when it comes to skincare and my skin's certainly rewarding me at the moment *ahem*. One product I do notice making a huge difference is this. Part gel, part oil it breaks down any makeup you have on and leaves your skin feeling so clean. Seriously, I always notice how much nicer my skin feels when I use this. On that note, I need to wash my face more often.
Choupette: The Private Life of a High-Flying Fashion Cat-Not a lot of reading got done in December but one book I did manage to get through quite quickly was this one. Choupette has to be one of the cutest celebrity cats out. Her owner is Karl Lagerfeld so it's safe to assume she lives quite fabulously. This is a fun, coffee table book with insights on cats and Choupette's favourite things but it is also crammed with incredibly cute photos. If you're a cat lover and a fashion lover you need this.
-What have you been loving in December?
*Happy New Year's Eve guys and girls! How crazy is it that 2014 is more or less done and dusted? I'm quite looking forward to a new year, not gonna lie but this year definitely did have some rather rad highlights. Tonight's probably going to be low-key as we're getting up early to fly to Wellington for a mini break. Keep an eye out for some 'grams and things as always. I hope you all have a good night whether you're celebrating or having a quiet night in. x

Christmas Decor
Hello and welcome back to another Blogmas post! It's Day 5 and myself, Caelan and Jess are all writing and documenting one of my favourite things, Christmas decorations. It's probably no secret that I love Christmas decor so the fact we have a real Christmas tree this year really excites me. I also seem to have a habit for collecting new decorations and I love setting up all the decorations around the house. If you want to have a lil' nosy at how we decorated our house and how I've made my room look a little more festive then keep reading..
-A little close-up of one of my favourite sections of our Christmas tree. That rose-covered bauble is one of the decorations I chose last year and it was from Smith & Caughey's I believe.
-My room's inspiration board looking a touch more festive. I was trying to channel Jenna Rink when she makes editorial mood boards in 13 Going On 30. The Christmas cards are from Kikki K and Typo. The star was from Bed Bath'N Table.
-Some of the decorations along the bottom of my pinboard and also on my wall. I don't have a big enough bedroom for a Christmas tree although I do want a mini one, next year! The two on my board were picked up last year and they're both from Smith & Caughey's I believe. The snowflake was from Bed Bath'N Table.
-Some bunting Mum made last year. We have this hanging above the ceiling in our kitchen/dining area.
-Some faux berries on our table. You may have seen these in the background of my YouTube videos recently and I'm not gonna lie, I kinda wish they could be out on display all year.
*I hope you've enjoyed this post! Let me know what you're loving for Christmas decor this year in the comments and be sure to check out Caelan and Jess' posts too.

A Boxful of Beauty
Fact: I love organisational storage. Knowing where everything is, colour coding, beautiful display ideas, they all excite me. In particular I enjoy thinking about ways to better organise my beauty and fashion storage but today I thought I'd show you how I store and display my beauty products.

The Boxes I love Jo Malone packaging, it's so classic and elegant. I also love to recycle where I can and thought these boxes would be great for storing beauty products. The square box houses the majority of my lipsticks. I keep all my favourites along the top row and in the front section so I can find them easily. The longer rectangular box holds my sleep related products so I can keep all those in one place and don't have to go looking for them at night.
*Try: Shoe boxes, plastic labelled containers.

Inside my dream house!
I've always loved interiors. There's something about the way in which people choose to decorate their homes and display items that draws me in, especially if it is done well. If I could draw, and was more artistic, I'd probably be an interior designer but since I'm not, admiring gorgeous homes and room designs is as close as I'll get!
Here's how my three, (yes three as they would be ample to house my fashion library) would look in an ideal world.

Wondrous Walls.
Blank walls are very much blank canvases in my eyes. To those who love visuals, walls can be a way of creating life-sized collages, vision boards or even mock-magazine layouts all in one easy access space!
The best thing about this form of creating your own personal gallery if you will is that it needn't be a costly exercise.

- These are all collages which were made for my high school note folders using an assortment of computer images, magazine segments and perfume sample cards. It took me a while to decide how to reuse these but I think they look fantastic on my wardrobe doors.
- My black and white photo collage is possibly my favourite wall feature which I've made so far. To achieve this I firstly sourced images from sites like Fashion Gone Rogue and friend's Tumblrs, then it was simply a matter of getting them all printed out. From memory I had about forty or fifty photos done for roughly 7-8 dollars, at a local HP photo centre. Then armed with blutack I made the selection you see before you. *
- Pin boards are the easiest way to display images, personal mementoes, anything a drawing pin can deal with really! Mine gets updated bimonthly with a variety of my own photos, magazine clippings, cards and more. Pin-boards are great for displaying a lot of things at once, are relatively cost effective if you use items you have already and are a great way to showcase your favourite things, rather than having them in storage.
- Brochures are often great to bring home from shows in particular, especially if you don't wish to ruin your souvenir programs! These are all brochures I've collected from shows I've seen overseas. The Audrey Hepburn photos are from a calendar I was given and saved at the end of one year, and the print you see is by artist 'Dear Colleen' and can be found here. Collecting and grouping similar photos together of what interests you is another effective way of displaying what you love.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing some of the visuals that are around my room. For more decorating ideas read this post here over on Style Rookie or browse my 'For the Home' and 'Living Spaces' boards on Pinterest.
*NOTE-For more effective results, get your images printed 'Matte' instead of 'Glossy'. It shouldn't cost you any extra and if pictures are pixellated this type of print masks it better, so they look outstanding up close and from afar.
