September Favourites
Another month, another rather early dose of September Favourites goodness. For once I was very decisive when it came to compiling this list for the blog. There's a couple of repeat offenders in the mix as well as some new loves, both beauty and non-beauty. Here's what took my fancy in September..
bareMinerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil Balm in Punch Pop-I'm cheating a bit here as this was only purchased last week but I love it so much and felt it deserved an inclusion. These new lip balms from bareMinerals are super pigmented but you can easily sheer them out with your finger. These contain passionfruit seed oil and Vitamin E and they're so moisturising. Seriously, they're putting most of my other lip balms to shame. I highly recommend these if you want something hydrating with a punch of vibrant colour for your pout.
Daisy Dream x Marc Jacobs-This fragrance has been on high rotation this month, probably because it's been living in my satchel for the majority of September. I've just noticed this was in my September Favourites last year as well, deja vu much? There's something about fruity, slightly floral fragrances that just screams Spring and Summer to me. It's such a vibrant, uplifting fragrance. I love it. PS-The newer version of this, Daisy Dream Forever is worth a spritz too.
Revitalash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner*-It's been around two months now since I started using Revitalash and while I was skeptical as to its effectiveness at first, I really think it's working its magic. For those not in the know, Revitalash is a rather popular lash serum on the NZ market. It's hard for me to tell if it's made my lashes thicker, because I already have quite thick lashes, but it's definitely lengthened them. They feel a lot softer too, although maybe that's my imagination. I'm going to do a review of this sometime around the three or four month mark so keep an eye out for it.
Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme and Cucumber Gel Masks-One of my friends (shoutout to M if you're reading) got me the mini mask set from Sephora for my birthday and I've become obsessed with these two masks. The Pumpkin Enzyme mask is quite exfoliating, so it's great when your skin needs a good ol' clean and refresh. It seems almost brightening in a way as well so it's great for dull skin. The Cucumber Gel mask on the other hand will be your BFF in times of need, i.e. when a planet sized blemish decides to move in on your face. It's really cooling too which I love.
Australis Metallix Shadows in Gold Gaga and Pearl Jammin'-Now these have definitely made an appearance on my favourites before. Possibly more than once. These incredibly pigmented, buttery cream eyeshadows set down to leave your lids looking shimmery, sparkly and fabulous. Seriously, they're gorgeous and they're so long-wearing. I'm obsessed with these eyeshadows and I always get asked what's on my eyes when I'm wearing one. If you're in New Zealand or Australia, go give these a swatch and/or buy a couple. You won't regret it.
Submarine by Joe Dunthorne-This was easily my favourite book and also film of the month. I've already talked about it a bit on the blog this month so I won't ramble on too much. This novel is brilliant, raw, and utterly hilarious. If you're a fan of Nick Hornby or Stephen Chbosky then I think you'll enjoy this book.
III x JoJo-Everyone's favourite '04/05 teen queen JoJo is back with a new EP, which I believe is a snippet of the songs we can expect from her upcoming album. It's so freakin' good guys. It's hard to pick a standout track because they're all awesome. In terms of music-I've also been liking Miley Cyrus' new album that she dropped online and Vampire Weekend. The latter seems to always make a reappearance on my playlists at this time of year.

Best of 2014 #3: The Skincare, Haircare & Extras
We're at the finish line when it comes to favourites videos for 2014. This time I've rounded up some skincare, beauty tools, even some haircare. There's also a couple of non-beauty favourites in there too because I just couldn't leave them out. I'm also sporting my current favourite piece of clothing. More on that tomorrow. Best of 2014 #2: The Makeup
It feels too early to be thinking about beauty favourites for 2014 but hey, it happened. It was not easy narrowing down my makeup loves for the year but this video would have gone on for hours if that hadn't happened. There's my foundation love, the powders for flawless skin, a classic red lip, a purse-friendly concealer and more. Christmas Beauty | Gift Ideas
It's now November and that now gives me a justifiable excuse to start talking about Christmas. As you can see above I even felt the need to dress for the occasion. I've filmed a video of some of my picks for Christmas from the beauty world. There's something for a range of budgets so hopefully it'll please you all. October Favourites | The Beauty Edition
October, the month of Halloween, sunshine, strawberries and Summer. It also appears to have been the month of shimmer and sparkle. Maybe it's because the end of the semester is approaching and I feel like I no longer need to tone down the glitter eyeshadow for university classes or maybe it's because I want lighter eyeshadows. Who knows. What I do know though is that all these products have consistently delivered for me all month and will no doubt remain stash staples...
Marc Jacobs Style Icon Eyeshadow Palette in Lolita-Look at all that neutral goodness. Look at it. I am a bit obsessed with this palette at the moment and have been using it most of the month when makeup has made an appearance. If you're time poor, this one has you set for a quick eye look. There's a light pink shade which tends to get ignored by me but the rest are well loved. Its sleek, compact nature means it is perfect for traveling with and won't weigh down your handbag or makeup bag.
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipgloss in Cashmere Rose-These glosses have never been released in NZ so when I saw this colour on FeelUnique, a YouTube vlogger favourite, it had to be added to my basket. This peachy pink, fruity scented gloss is pretty darn pigmented and this looks stunning over similar hued lipsticks and also on its own. I love wearing lipgloss in Spring and Summer so this one is going to be on high rotation no doubt.
Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium-Cheekbones in one handy little compact sums this gem of a product up. This cool-toned powder won't leave you looking like you've gone a bit wild with bronzer. Instead you'll find yourself with a more sculpted, natural looking shadow. It is a bit on the pricey side of things but you barely need any per use so I can see this one lasting quite a while yet.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge-The whole idea of using a sponge to apply makeup has always perplexed me so when Anna sent this to me it sat unloved for a little while. One day I decided to give this a go with concealer and within seconds I could see what the fuss was about. Now I've never tried the Beauty Blender so I can't compare but I was really impressed with this. It didn't soak up too much product and as I was tapping the product in, it left a more seamless finish. The shape of the Real Techniques sponge is particularly good for getting into the contours of the face and also under the eyes.
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Eye Pencil in Bronze*, limited edition-This is the closest I've come to owning a rose-gold hued eyeliner and for that reason alone it is ruling the eyeliner kingdom this month. It's long-wearing, easy to blend and even easy enough to line your upper lashes with and not make a big mess of things. I love this and it kinda sucks that it's limited edition. Hopefully it'll be back on the shelves again soon.
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso-I wasn't expecting to like this blush as much as I did because sheeny blushers just aren't my thing. Applied with a stippling brush though it looks beautiful. It reminds me a bit of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders which is never a bad thing. The packaging could be nicer, I'm not a fan of the flip-out insert which stores a brush, but other than that you can't really fault this one.
Sally Hansen Triple Shine Nail Polish in Dream Sequins-These colours have been out for a while and this one had been singing out to** me from the shelves. It's essentially a coppery, rose-gold glitter that isn't too gritty. In fact, it has more of a gel finish than anything else. It was super easy to remove too and we all know glitters usually are the total opposite. I'm impressed!

The Eyeshadow Tag
It's no secret that I'm rather fond of eyeshadow. Creams, powders, glitters-I love it all. A couple of weeks back I adapted the blush tag to suit eyeshadow and here's the finished product. The editing's a little choppy in places and I forgot to mention the questions a few times, thank goodness for the handy text tool in iMovie. A few YouTubers have been tagged too so stayed tuned until the end to see who I want to do this next. My next video will probably be my October Favourites but there'll be a lot more activity on my channel next month. October is packed to the brim with assignments and exam revision so I just don't have time to blog, film and do Uni+everything else all at once.

September Favourites
September is the January in fashion and the Spring in beauty. The heavy eye makeup and deep red lips get shelved and the neutral lips, shimmery eyes and perfected skin come out to play. This month is about all of the above and also the fresh and fruity fragrances, stationery to fall head over heels in love with, a brush that deserves an apology and more..
Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer-Oh em gee. This range is all kinds of perfection but rather than turning this into The Bumble & Bumble Hour I narrowed my pickings down to this primer. Spritz it into your hair for shinier, conditioned, UV-ray protected tresses. Just don't spritz too much that the tropical scent distracts you when you're driving. True story...
Sephora Pro #45 Brush-Now this brush was purchased to see if it was as good as the beloved Buffing Brush. At the time I decided it was fairly worthy but not amazing. Flash forward a few months and I love it! If you're in a rush and want something that's going to blend your foundation in for you fast, this is it. It's been compared to the face brush from Bobbi Brown. While it may not be as soft as its more luxurious counterpart, it still delivers.
Rifle Paper Co.-Obsessed doesn't fully cover just how much I love this brand at the moment. In fact, I may not have been able to keep my hands off some of their goodies in Wellington last week either. More on that Monday...If you love gold foil, flowers, beautiful type and illustrations then you are going to love their designs. They'd make great Christmas gifts for someone else or yourself if you're in a 'treat yo'self' frame of mind.
The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover-This was a little birthday purchase last month after spying it on several beauty blogs. The bi-phase remover works like an oil in that it breaks down all your eye makeup. Even the most stubborn waterproof mascaras will be swept away with this one. It's so gentle and I will forever repurchase this.
Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eye Stick in 'Honey Bunny'-In an upcoming video I mention that these are just as good as the Ombre Blackstars at a fraction of the price. Creamy, shimmery colour that does not budge is what you'll get here. I like to pair it with the more shimmery shadows from my Lolita Palette, also by Marc Jacobs. If you can get your hands on these I'd highly recommend them.
Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Pink Glace-Why we cannot get Jouer this side of the globe remains a mystery to me because if their lipgloss offerings are anything to go by, then the rest of their products are looking pretty darn promising. This nude-beige gloss is the perfect YLBB and slightly glossier option. It sits nicely alongside nude lipsticks as well. Lurve.
Daisy Dream-Again, no surprises here. I've been on a real Marc Jacobs buzz lately. You can check out my review of this fragrance here. It really is the perfect Spring fragrance and is neither too floral nor too fruity. The bottle is pretty perfect too.
The Body Shop Instablur*-I'm not entirely sure how this missed the cut last time favourites deliberating took place because it is awesome. It has more of a gel-like feel which dries down to a matte finish. It's very smoothing on the skin and helps to reduce any uneven texture you may have. More importantly, foundation or your base of choice will not be going anywhere. If you're not willing to fork out for the Hourglass Primer then you should definitely consider this much more wallet-friendly alternative.

Daisy Dream
Many of us have probably owned at least one bottle of Daisy from Marc Jacobs at some point. It's one of those scents which seems to be popular with young women and many variations of it have been released over the years, the latest being Daisy Dream. Who can resist that floral adorned bottle?! On our shores it's available in 30mL, 50mL and 100mL bottles, pictured is the 30mL If you're a bit further afield, you may be able to get your hands on the rollerball fragrance and also scented body products. We're simply spoilt for choice here..
Daisy Dream is inspired by "the boundless spirit of daisies and blue skies". With top notes of blackberry grapefruit and pear, this fragrance is delicious. There's a few floral notes in the mix, like Jasmine and Blue Wisteria, but on the whole this scent is quite fruity which prevents the floral notes from becoming too overpowering. In comparison to the other Daisy fragrances, this one seems like the grown up, more sophisticated version of Daisy, which can be put down to the notes mentioned, but also the White Woods and Musk notes throughout. It's still got the girly, Summery charm that its sister fragrances possess, but to me this is a much more vibrant, uplifting scent.
If you're yet to experience Marc Jacobs' fragrances, perhaps you'll be swayed by Daisy Dream. It's the perfect new Summer scent and it hasn't left my vanity since I purchased it.

The Spring Beauty Edit
It's Spring one of my favourite times of the year due to the fact that; a) it's starting to get warmer, b) new flowers are in bloom+my favourite fruits come back in season and c) I can justify wearing summery dresses and lighter layers again without getting the "you'll catch a chill" lecture. Today's post, funnily enough is not about any of the above, as I'm sure the title will have suggested. This time of year calls for a rotation of the stash and a lightening of the eye makeup, and perhaps lip if you're that way inclined. It's time to embrace the fresh fragrances, the peaches, pinks and the glow-givers...
The Floral and Fruity Fragrance-This may have been in my Spring-themed post last year but it deserves a mention again. Marc Jacobs Daisy fragrances are all so light and fresh. If you've spritzed them before you'll know these are perfect for Spring. Check out the new Daisy Dream fragrance if you haven't already. It's like Daisy's sophisticated older sister.
Peachy and Bronzed Cheeks-Winter is all about the minimal blush look for me, Tarte's Exposed was on high rotation this year. By the time Spring rolls around the peaches and the bronzes come back out to play. Seen here are the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy and the Bobbi Brown Bronze Brightening Blush*. The latter is perhaps a tad too warm toned for my porcelain complexion at the moment but it's certainly going to get a lot of wear in the warmer months. Tipsy is one of those blushes that seems to brighten up your complexion-great if you're having an off day.
Pink Pout-In an effort to step away from my trio of Mac Nudes, I've started embracing the new pink lip products Tamira sent me. That Jouer Lipgloss in Pink Glace is lovely on its own or layered over the aforementioned nudes (I just can't get enough of them...). Marc Jacobs Kiss Pop Lip Color Stick in Wham is the perfect raspberry pink. It has a matte-velvet texture, is ridiculously long-wearing and is not drying in the slightest. Lurve.
Sheeny Lids-First things first**, I am rather smitten with the Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eye Stick in Honey Bunny as you will know if you saw my video yesterday. I'll save the raves for now because this will be in my September Favourites-go check out the Sephora reviews in the meantime. A slightly less spendy favourite is the L'Oreal Colour Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush. It's a sheenier version of All That Glitters from Mac and looks beautiful worn alone or over most neutral shadows. Last but not least we have my current liner love, Bobbi Brown's Long Wear Liner Pencil in Bronze*. It's the closest thing to a bronze, rose-gold hued eyeliner that I have seen. As the name would suggest, this stays put all day long and looks so subtle once blended out.
Radiant Complexion-The photo above really does not show you just how worn out my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is, given it's in use every time I wear makeup. Subtle powders that disguise shine and add the subtlest veil of powder to your complexion. They reduce the appearance of uneven texture and just leave things looking a lot more flawless. Another product that is great for low key days or fans of a light base is Estee Lauder's new Clear Difference BB Cream*. Not too matte, not too dewy and with enough coverage that leaves me skipping concealer and just reaching for the above powders.

The Extras | A Fashion, Beauty & Stationery Haul
I am back, and out of YouTube hibernation for now. Earlier in the week I filmed two hauls, the first of which you are seeing today. This lil' mishmash of clothing, stationery and makeup has been accumulated over the last couple of months and given you seemed to want to see hauls when I asked on social media, I was more than happy to oblige. Keep an eye out for Part 2 which is a book haul and enjoy! Oh-and apologies for the umms and ahhs. I was very nervous about filming hauls for some reason.

The Makeup Bag Edit | BEAUTYMINDED
Another month, another bag to showcase. This time I'm shining the spotlight on Katia of BEAUTYMINDED and she's kindly given us a look inside her well-stocked makeup bag. Belgium-based Katia has exquisite makeup taste, although I may be ever so slightly biased. After all, I did spot more than one of my favourite products in the photos above. Sit back, relax and grab that pen and paper because you will be wanting to draw up a wishlist right about now..
"My makeup bag is filled to the brim with all the essentials for a daytime look. For my base, I usually stick with the Laura Mercier Oil-Free Primer as shown or the Clinique Superprimer. They both make my favourite foundation, CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Velvet last that little bit longer. I've learned from several makeup artists that primer is very useful for girls with oily skin like me.
When I've got my base covered, I fill in my brows with the Chanel trio "Les Sourcils de Chanel". I've had this for over a year now and even though I use this daily, it's nowhere near empty-think of it as a good investment. You can use the powder with an angled brush but I just use the tools that come with the palette. They do a nice job. If you want to see it in action you can check out my video here.
After that I concentrate on the eyes. I prime my oily lids with the Nars Pro Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base and then I reach for one of my favourite eyeshadows of the moment: By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Brown Perfection as a smokey option or the Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eye Stick in Honey Bunny combined with the L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Mono shadow in Cafe Saint Germain. Sometimes I also use the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze all over the lid. A little tight-lining with Bobbi Brown's Perfectly Defined Eyeliner in Pitch Black creates a bit more depth before I move on to mascara.
In the mascara department, I'm hooked on Marc Jacobs' new O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara, as it's all my lashes need for dramatic black colour and volume. When that's all done, I apply a little of the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer under my eyes. I love the formula as I find it to be more like a tinted eye cream than a concealer.
Eyes done, I then apply the Clinique Chubby Stick for Cheeks in Roly Poly Rosy or the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed if I'm after a subtler look. My go-to lip options at the moment are rather colourful. I love By Terry Baume De Rose Nutri Couleur in Cherry Bomb or my two picks from the Chanel Fall Collection, Rouge Coco Shine in #96 and the Levres Scintillantes Gloss in Songe. After applying the Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Rollerball I am good to go!"

A Swap With Tamira
So a couple of months back Tamira of lipstickwithsomesunshine and myself decided to do a swap. If you're new to these parts, swaps typically involve the exchange of beauty products and whatever else you'd want to send really, for instance I also sent some stationery, candy and the current issue of Frankie magazine in my parcel. This is the second formal swap I've done and it's so much fun putting things together for someone else and then wrapping them up all pretty. Well Tamira's lovely parcel for me turned up last week, beautifully wrapped in brown paper and twine-none of which you are seeing because I got too excited and opened it all. Here's a look at the beauty loot she sent me but there was also candy (nom!) and stationery for me too, some of which you'll see over on Facebook.
As with Anna's parcel, I'll do an update on the products I'm yet to try from this swap so keep an eye out for that..
Marc Jacobs Kiss Pop Lip Color Stick in Wham-Whenever I see this lip product's name I'm torn between saying "Wham bam thank you Ma'am" or starting to sing this little number. How gorgeous is that packaging too!? Marc has that aesthetically pleasing side of beauty down. I've worn this once and on the lips it's more of a coral rose. Beautiful in other words and I think it's going to be perfect going into Spring and Summer.
Jouer Moisturising Lip Gloss in Pink Glace-Tamira must be psychic or something because she clearly knows about my love for lip products. Jouer is another brand we can't get in New Zealand and I've always wanted to try their Moisture Tints. Anyway, this lipgloss is so pretty! I wore it on Saturday on its own and loved it, largely because it was not sticky or gloopy in the slightest. This shade would also look great over nude lipsticks or lipliner if you're that way inclined.
Hourglass 1.5mm Mechanical Gel Eyeliner-Oh Hourglass, you've done it again. This liner is said to be simple and mess-free. According to Tamira's blog, the fine tip means you can get in ridiculously close to the lashline and create flicks a lot easier. It looks a lot less awkward to hold than some other gel pen-liners as well. Maybe my days of cotton buds lining my rubbish bin are over..
L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara-Another L'Oreal mascara! *insert heart-eyed cat emojis*. I've not tried this before but I've only heard and read good things about it so I'm looking forward to giving it a go.
Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01-After seeing countless beauty bloggers, including Tamira singing this little beauty's praises I knew I had to have one in my possession. In person it's reminding me of the Mac Maleficent Lipglass without the shine, but I haven't actually worn it yet so will keep you updated.
LAVANILA Deodorant in Pure Vanilla-I have no idea why this has appealed to me but I've often seen it in Sephora hauls so obviously other beauty lovers are curious about this one too. What we have here is essentially a one hundred per cent natural, roll on deodorant. I'm not gonna lie it smells pretty darn good. I was scared it'd smell like hemp seeds or something. Moving on to something less awkward to write about....
Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm in Apricot-This sounds intriguing and again, according to Tamira's blog (good old point of reference...), these are comparable to the Clarins Lip Perfecters. This colour looks so pretty too.

Hey Lolita Hey
Oh my, if ever there was an excuse to describe something as a thing of beauty, now would be the perfect opportunity. I'd heard Marc Jacobs Beauty products were beautiful but this is something else. The palette has a sleek, slimline design, comes in a cute little pouch and is just gorgeous. In case the title didn't give the game away, this is the Lolita palette. It's a neutral lovers paradise, but I'll let my review do the talking..
I've been wanting to try Marc Jacobs beauty products for ages. They all look so gorgeous and seeing them on other blogger's blogs and YouTube channels just makes them all the more enticing. On first impressions this palette certainly didn't disappoint. The design is beautiful. It's what is on the inside that counts though right? In this treasure chest palette you will find seven eyeshadows, three mattes and four shimmers.
All the shades are ones I'd wear, although I have to say that middle shade, fourth from the left in the bottom photo is ridiculously glittery! It works well layered over the other colours but on its own, not a good idea. There was glitter in my #217 for days afterwards... I particularly love the two shades on the end which remind me a bit of All That Glitters and Sable from Mac but the matte shades are perfect too. I kinda wish there was a warmer-toned crease colour in here but it isn't a major.
These shadows are pigmented, easy to blend and of course incredibly long-wearing. I'm so glad I took the plunge and added this to a recent Sephora order.

The Spring Beauty Edit
I love Spring. It's not unbearably hot or ridiculously cold. Flowers make a reappearance and strawberries start to come back in season. Spring is also the time when wine-red lipsticks and vampier eyeshadows start to disappear. Bring in the Spring beauty edit; pink lips, a touch of pastel and cheeks lit from within. Benefit Blush in Rockateur This is Benefit's newest boxed blush and it doesn't disappoint. Admittedly the packaging really isn't my favourite but the blush itself is fantastic so that's all that matters. Rockateur is a rose-gold shade. It isn't as shimmery as some of Benefit's other boxed blushes so if you aren't a fan of glittery face powders then you may like this one. The colour itself is quite subtle but it really gives you the most gorgeous glow. I love it!

Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs A floral, fruity fragrance, how cliched of me. I love all of Marc Jacobs' fragrances though. Any of his Daisy perfumes are great to wear in Spring and Summer. I often find myself adding this to my bag when I'm holidaying during those two seasons. It's so lightweight and it smells amazing.

The Perfume Roster
So there's a couple of things you need to know about my perfume habits. #1-I don't own a lot of perfumes, I have 6 in total. #2-I typically like scents that are quite fruity and floral. #3-I'm not a fan of celebrity fragrances. Maybe it's just me but after a while they all seem to smell the same and they have the worst staying power in my opinion. In general though I love perfumes and I wear them daily. There's no scent that's really my signature but for a while it was Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel. My perfumes tend to get rotated and I wear different ones most days, hence the roster of sorts! Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs, a duty free purchase. Perfumes are quite expensive in New Zealand so I usually tend to only buy them from the Duty Free stores at the airport or when they're on sale. This was purchased a couple of years ago when I was going to Sydney. The original Daisy was my favourite perfume at the time and this one is similar but it is fruitier and less floral. With notes of grapefruit, raspberry and pear it smells delicious, good enough to eat! This scent doesn't last all day but if you can get a hand on one of the rollerballs or a travalo then you can always top this up during the day.
Lime, Basil and Mandarin Cologne by Jo Malone, a gift. Jo Malone's scents are divine. The fact they come in boxes tied with ribbon certainly helps but the scents definitely do the talking all by themselves. This cologne is the signature Jo Malone scent. It is quite different to the fragrances I usually like to wear but I love it for that reason. I love to wear this one in Summer. Jo Malone's scents can often be layered with other fragrances and sometimes I pair this with Daisy ESF and it smells amazing.
Daisy by Marc Jacobs rollerball, limited edition. The original Marc Jacobs fragrance that took the world by storm. I'm sure everyone has owned this at some point or at least would recognise the scent. It contains notes of strawberry, violet leaves, grapefruit, gardenia and violet petals among others. It is the perfect blend of floral and fruity that I love in fragrances. This one will always be special to me because it reminds me of high school and conjures some nostalgic teenage memories for me.
Philosykos Eau De Toilette by Diptyque, a birthday purchase. This fragrance is the most recent addition to my perfume collection. It even made its way into my August Favourites post. Like the Jo Malone fragrance this one is quite different to anything else I have ever owned. Its notes of fig leaves, white cedar and wood make this scent fresh and earthy whilst still remaining feminine and elegant. There is something about Philosykos that seems grown up and sophisticated. If you're ever near Mecca Cosmetica then you should definitely go have a spritz of this and the other Diptyque offerings.

January Favourites
I'm pretty sure I say this every single month but it feels like I only just sat down to unwrap some of these products at Christmas time! I had a lot of new things to try this month & as there was quite a bit you won't be seeing some of them until next month. 1. Maybelline Baby Lips in Mixed Berry, around $4. This lip balm is more or less the same as the original Baby Lips, except it is tinted. I loved the Mango Pie lip balm so I was eager to give this one a go & it is fantastic. My lips are left feeling hydrated & of course subtly tinted, perfect for those lazy summer days when you don't really want to throw on a lot of product.
2. NARS Bronzer in Laguna, a Christmas gift but available online here. Nars say; Nars' Bronzing Powder creates a natural looking glow which enhances or creates the look of naturally tanned skin. It also fills in lines and pores for smoother looking skin while the subtle shimmer adds glow. A year ago I would've told anyone I was quite fine with a pale complexion & that bronzer was unnecessary, that was until I saw all my favourite Beauty Bloggers & Vloggers raving about this. I use this bronzer to contour my cheekbones & lightly dust my face. You can get away with using barely any product & still be left with a sunkissed glow that doesn't leave you looking yellow or orange. The amount of product you get for the money you pay is reasonable too. I've used this every time I've worn makeup this month & it seems like it's going to last for ages.
3. Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh, 75mL fragrance, purchased in Duty Free. This is the sister scent to the original Daisy fragrance. I'd say it is definitely a lot more floral than Daisy but it does contain some of the same notes so it still smells quite similar. This fragrance is one of my favourites & it's been getting a lot of usage over Summer.

My Christmas Wishlist
-So I've done a couple of gift guides already but I hadn't made my own wishlist as such. I think my Christmas Shopping is for the most part done, yay! I'm definitely going to try to get one of those Bubble Bars before Christmas is over though & the Topshop blouse & wallet. I will continue daydreaming about those perfect Chloe flats in the meantime...
*I hope you all have marvellous Mondays! This week is going to be rather busy with plenty happening which is going to be chaotic...but fun!

Pretty stationery, Cat decor & Super sunglasses. These are all essential items are they not? Each week in the diary is decorated with different illustrations. There is also a handy little book in the back for jotting down useful tidbits of information & a sheet of stickers (essential). The cat decal is so pretty! It looks gorgeous on walls or windows & if cats aren't for her, there are also dog & bird variations. The sunglasses are lovely also & because the colour is quite neutral they could easily be paired with a range of looks.
Good books never fail to disappoint, especially if she loves reading. This book is perfect for fashionistas & any fans of The September Issue out there. If you feel like spoiling someone fragrance is also a good option. This scent is fruity & slightly tropical, perfect for Summer. This bronzer is one of NARS' best-selling items & it leave skin looking naturally sun-kissed.

October Favourites
How quickly has October gone? So much has happened & all in such a short space of time. One downside of this craziness though is that the products in my makeup bag haven't really been mixed up a great deal this month. Mainly because I've been rushing here, there & everywhere but also because I haven't really acquired anything new. Monday Marvel #17; Fragrance Fantasies
This time of year seems to be when I start wanting a new fragrance for summer & the new year. It also seems to be the time a lot of new fragrances make their way onto the market & onto countless Christmas lists.
I'm currently trying to choose a new fragrance, so hard, #firstworldproblems & vice versa. It'll have to be from Duty Free or on sale though, I never buy fragrances full price. They are way too expensive otherwise!
