7 Beauty Sins

The 7 Beauty Sins tag is one that has been floating around YouTube for a while now and I thought it'd be a fun one to answer, mainly because it got me thinking about beauty products a little differently to how I usually do. I always find these videos/posts interesting because everyone has such different answers, depending on what part of the world you're in.

So without further ado, here are my 7 Beauty Sins..

Greed

What is your most expensive/inexpensive beauty product? My most expensive product is probably the Nars bronzer in Laguna. The price you pay for the amount of product you get is worthwhile, this barely has a dent in it and I use it more or less every day. This colour is also a fantastic, natural bronze. It's very hard to go overboard with this bronzer! My most inexpensive product would be the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balms. I think they're under $5 and are great to have around when your lips are feeling a bit dry.

Wrath

What product do you have a love/hate relationship with? There's a couple of things, firstly Mac Amplified Creme lipstick in Impassioned. This is such a gorgeous, gorgeous colour and I do love it but I find it a bit hard to wear. If you're quite pale it can be a bit of an overpowering shade. It's definitely more of a summery lip colour. Secondly, the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. Don't get me wrong, this palette is a fantastic all rounder but out of the whole palette I probably only use half the eyeshadow colours. The shades I do use are amazing but others like Pistol and Verve are just a bit disappointing as I don't really wear grey or silver eyeshadows.

What product was hardest to find? Bioderma hands down. If you're not in France I think this is generally a nightmare to find so I was lucky enough to have a friend send me some of the mini bottles over from England. Since then I found a shop in Auckland which stocks it but they're sold out at the moment and don't usually have high stock levels anyway. It is well worth the search though

Gluttony

What are your most delicious beauty products? Hmm, a lot of my lip products smell amazing. YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks easily win this category. They smell like delicious fruits. Honourable mention has to go to Korres lip butter in Jasmine which smells like cookie dough and the Lush Bubblegum lip scrub which smells like raspberry and sweets in general.

Sloth

What products do you neglect due to laziness? I don't neglect products due to laziness as such but usually it'll be because I am running particularly late. I usually skip highlighter so Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle and also sometimes blush. Eyeshadow often gets neglected if I am in a bit of a rush as well.

Pride

What product gives you the most confidence? This is a hard question, probably eyeshadows or anything shimmery like glittery pigments. The moment I have eyeshadow on I instantly feel like a makeup look is 'done' and it just adds a bit of pizazz if you don't want to fuss around with a bold lip. Sparkly eye makeup just seems to be such a mood raiser and I always like to wear a bit of glitter if there's a party or an exciting event to go to.

Lust

What attributes do you find attractive in the opposite sex? Ok, I'm not sure why this is in a beauty tag but whatever. I like guys who don't look too disheveled, no long, unruly hair or beards. Don't get me started on beards.. This picture probably best answers this question. See also Ed Westwick.

Envy

What products would you like to receive as a gift? Hmm, I like beauty vouchers then I can choose myself but I'd say something like one of my favourite scents or a luxury candle. Basically anything I wouldn't usually buy.
