June Lovin'

Yesterday I put an Instagram up of some beauty products I've been loving lately and thought I'd do some mini reviews of them today for you because they really are fantastic and the love deserves to be shared. There's also some miscellaneous fashion and stationery bits thrown in there because I've been loving them this month too.

Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Eclair This was released as part of the Baking Beauties collection and I think it's sold out now. Constructivist is similar and part of their permanent collection. The shade is a coppery brown with fine gold shimmer running through it. This paint pot is very true to colour and looks lovely worn by itself or with other Mac eyeshadows like Woodwinked and All That Glitters. This also goes nicely with the metallic shades in the Naked 2 palette as well. What I really love about this paint pot though is its staying power. With an eyeshadow primer underneath this does not crease at all. It's perfect for long days when eyeshadow touch ups aren't an option.

Antipodes Joyful Hand & Body Cream I actually first heard of Antipodes on Estee's blog and was excited to hear they were a New Zealand brand. This hand cream was tested many a time I visited Farmers and I finally picked it up when I had some reward dollars to use. This cream is scented with blackcurrant berry and hibiscus flower so it smells quite fruity with a hint of floral. I use this as a hand cream and the cream sinks into the skin so quickly. You aren't left having to vigorously rub at the greasy residue. This is probably the only hand cream that doesn't dry out my skin in Winter too and I love it for that. Next on the Antipodes lust list is the Grapeseed Butter Cleanser which reminds me of the ever-popular cleansing balms everyone loves at the moment.

Glassons Contrast Spot Print Blouse, available here. I tend to be drawn to any print that features dots, florals or sparkles so when I spotted this blouse online I was sold. The two-toned print reminds me of a Topshop dress I loved a few months ago and I think this will be so versatile to wear. It'd look lovely paired with a red lip and ankle boots. Get in quick if you want this though, I had to go on quite a hunt to find my size.

Mac Matte Lipstick in Lady Danger This is one of Mac's signature reds and rightly so. Unlike Russian Red it is more of a cherry tone and is definitely brighter. I wouldn't call this a vampy red lipstick really. I was quite skeptical about this lipstick because it is quite bright but it definitely looks brighter in the bullet than it does on. I pair this with their Redd lip pencil to really bring out the redness in this lipstick which I think makes it look less bright. This is definitely still a vibrant shade though and for a matte lipstick it is surprisingly not very drying. In fact, compared to some other matte lipsticks it feels quite creamy on the lips and is very long lasting. This colour suits a range of skintones, I'm quite pale but I have friends who are tanned and Lady Danger also suits them. I'd recommend trying this on at a Mac store first if you're a bit uncertain but it is a lovely, vibrant red which I think will always have a home in my collection.

Moleskine Plain Soft Notebook I love writing but there is something about keeping diaries that I just can't ever get to grips with. I always end up forgetting to write down my thoughts for the day and then eventually lose interest. One thing I do enjoy doing though is keeping a visual diary. They don't necessarily need to have a lot of text, sometimes I write nothing at all. I love using this Moleskine as a way of visually documenting my thoughts, saving inspiring images and quotes or lyrics I've seen and liked. It's also a great way for me to work through my folders full of magazine tears and mementoes I've saved.

So that's some of the things I've been loving lately. Keep an eye out for my June Beauty Favourites next week. xo
