What I Love Weekly #21

1. Life lesson/pearl of wisdom for the week; "Don't let anyone ever dull your sparkle." It's important to always remember this when somebody tries to knock you back or invalidate you.

2. Who remembers that Colin Mathura Jeffree gelato he invented for Giapo? It featured banana, Nutella & hazelnuts. This week I was inspired by that & decided to make banana bread & included Nutella in the recipe instead of Cinnamon. It tasted pretty darn good. See the recipe for yourselves here.

3. My darling SLR camera. I really don't use it enough & it takes the best pictures. Next month my goal is to take it out with me a whole lot more.

4. Fashion Quarterly & YSL are hosting a readers event this Thursday. We'll hear about this season's key fashion trends & the latest makeup colours. Did I mention there are drinks, nibbles & a YSL gift on offer? You definitely don't want to miss this one if you're in Auckland. Book your tickets here.

What I'm currently reading.

5. While we're on the subject of Fashion, Grace Coddington-Creative Director of US Vogue will be releasing her memoirs on November 20th. Grace is such an amazing person & a lot of people (myself included) are really looking forward to this book's release. Preorder your copy here.

6. Social media loving. Last week I blogged about Arielle Mermin's collection in the New Gen show & it seems she liked my post too! I'm now featured on her press page & had my Facebook page liked by her brand. Thanks Arielle for making my day more than once this week. While we're on the subject of Facebook pages, help me get to 100 likes. Click here & when I reach the milestone there will be a giveaway on the blog. How's that for an incentive?

7. "If we wait until we're ready, we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives." -Lemony Snicket

8. Emma of Rag Pony blogged some backstage photos from Karen Walker's most recent show at NYFW. They're pretty darn awesome if I do say so myself.  Have a gander at them here.

9. Who has memories of taunting someone with party poppers in their childhood? Well that fear needn't be relived with the Japanese twist on a party classic. Frankie blogged about their seasonal party poppers which will reveal cherry blossom, snow flakes, rain drops & autumn leaves instead of coloured string. The company who makes these don't ship overseas, but party poppers are pretty easy to make yourself at home.

10. Britney of Lemonwood & Honey made this video of her lip synching to some of her favourite songs. It made me smile so much & you will too if you watch it. See you Monday B!

-I hope you all have wondrous weekends, wherever in the world you may be. I shall be soaking up the sun, reading as much as I can & perhaps doing some study before my classes start again next week.
