Monday Muse

I have to be honest here. For a while, I wouldn't admit I liked this week's muse. Don't ask why, it just didn't seem very cool. It wasn't until the rise in recent years of the heavily manufactured, image-controlled starlets that I realised how awesome Taylor Swift really is. Not to mention this interview from 'US Vogue' and how fantastic she is live.

Stevie Nicks describes her as the girl who writes the songs that "make the whole world sing" and that's definitely true given her phenomenal universal appeal. Swift has become famous for her music which literally reads like diary entries from her personal life. It is this realness which explains her connectivity to her fans of all ages. We all can go 'yes this has happened to me' when listening to at least one of her songs.

Aside from writing music, Taylor has also dabbled in acting and often does interviews+segments for the 'Ellen' show. People I know who don't particularly like Taylor's music enjoy them so you should watch this. I bet your opinion will change.

Taylor wrapped up her 'Speak Now World Tour' in March and she is currently working on her fourth album, scheduled for release later in the year. It is said to be more sad than anything, following a rough breakup. Perhaps this'll see a more adult-sounding record too...

"This is what I've wanted to do my whole life...it never freaks me out. Never. Ever...But you know what does freak me out? When is the other shoe going to drop? I am so happy right now. So I am always living in fear. This can't be real, right? This can't really be my life."
