May in Pictures

Well May you were manic, absolutely manic. The last month has been so busy, it was almost like everyone decided that deadlines, important events & the business of life in general should all happen at once. In saying that though, May was marvelous & quite a few amazing things happened. Some which I am still trying to get my head around.

Anyway, here's a look at some of the photos I documented this month, as always with the help of the ever-faithful Instagram. Enjoy!

1. Heroine from MAC's Reel Sexy range was one of the last purchases I made before the '30 Day Challenge' officially started and I haven't regretted it. It's only been worn a couple of times this month but when I have I've noticed how wearable it is & how long-lasting it is as well.

2. We went to the Langham Hotel for High Tea a couple of Friday's ago & this is a sample of what we enjoyed. See those scones? Those were fresh out of the oven when we had them & they tasted amazing.

3. Earlier in the year I purchased a 365 journal from Kikki K with the intentions of documenting everything from the day I was grateful for & occasionally random pieces of writing. It was going extremely smoothly until I went back to University. In the last couple of weeks though I've been writing in it again & hopefully I don't go off track again.

4. This was the scene in my bathroom one day when I was applying makeup. It seems excessive but from memory this was when I was going to a show with one of my friends. I usually don't wear reflex glitter & lipstick every day!

5. Paid the Auckland City Library a few visits. I love this library. Every time I visit I always leave with the most amazing books. On this particular visit I found a whole section dedicated to Fashion Costuming that I didn't even know existed. So I left with these two treasures. If you're ever in Auckland pay it a visit. Their collection of autobiographies & reference books is extensive.

6. Someone kindly bought me a copy of Amy Winehouse's Back to Black album. I'm listening to it for the first time as I write this & I love it. This may become the soundtrack of Winter, watch this space..

7. This was my dinner on one of the best nights of the year & comes from Bruschetteria in Elliott Stables. I can't remember the exact name of the bruschetta I had but it was amazing & so massive! Following this my friend & I went & sat in Aotea Square for a bit & talked+sang loudly. Simple things...

8. Wore my Thugged Out Since Cub Scouts tee a few times. I'm not a big fan of tshirts but this one is so comfy & I love the colour combo.

9. Probably the most boring picture I've ever taken but this was the scene I was met with quite a few times this month. Three big assignments were due & some others. Let's just say I am going to be so pleased to hand in my last assignment for the semester today.

10. Had a bit of an impromptu photo-shoot. Over the semester break I'm going to be doing quite a bit of work to the blog's layout & I took quite a few pictures for backgrounds, icons etc. These though are the two designs which will eventually go on my MOO cards. Hopefully they will also be done & ordered over the break.

11. Picked up my new prescription glasses. They are amazing & the clarity of the lenses is probably the best I've ever had. They get worn every day now.

12. Scarf weather is setting in & they're one of my favourite winter accessories, along with gloves. This one is from Country Road. I've had it a few years now & love it because it is massive. It is also incredibly warm.

What I posted over on Tumblr this month.

-Oh & for those of you wondering how the 30 Day Challenge went, after my slip up halfway through this month it seemed to go downhill from there. Trying to distinguish between what was essential and what wasn't became irritating & frustrating. Maintaining something like this for a month is no easy feat. I imagine even if you're not a shopaholic this would be hard. So it is safe to say next time I do a challenge like this for a longer period it will have to be difficult but more sustainable.
